• Cave ins and Flooding (not from rain)

I wouldn't mind this. I think it would work well if we just limited it to the more difficult settings, do that way those who wanted a challenge could have it and those that didn't could go about without it. Or maybe a toggle.
Mine flooding would only be cool if you could pump out the water instead of bucketing it out.
Didn't notch say that rain would fill small holes with water?
Didn't notch say that rain would fill small holes with water?
I thought that players always said that and he didn't? It's hard to keep track with every coming up with ideas all the time.
imagine this as a cave in system. when digging into generated rock (as in not crap you place yourself.) sometimes blocks aboe you may crumble and become gravel n the floor. This would only work in larger areas where rock is likely to be unstable.
The cave-in idea would be fraught with quite a few problems (but it would be nice if physics played a much greater role in the game; at the very least things shouldn't be normally floating), but better water physics are something I sincerely dream of. It's pathetic that, if I were to smash a window in an underwater structure, there's a little trickle and nothing else. Even if I blow the thing up with TNT, the water does not fill it properly.
I want this mod to be standard with water in minecraft
Needs a little polish, but I'd love to have it in game, though it'd really wreck flowing water. I myself made a sewer, and having something like this put in game would wreck it completely. The pump and everything is interesting, but it'd be really laggy after a while. If it was toggleable, that'd be great. To be honest though, oceans (really large bodies of water) should be infinite and be able to flood stuff below it.
Then look at V2. Oceans are infinite.
I saw v2. I really don't like how you have to throw stuff into water to make it the original thing. I love the ocean bits, and I love how the lava looks, but still the water looks a little iffy. It really depends on if Notch thinks it's good or not.
Would anyone else like to see the possibility of cave ins while digging mines in minecraft? Large mines would need support beams to prevent collapses. Also, what do you guys think about flooding? Say you are mining carelessly under a lake and you open a hole to the bottom of the lake and you have to get out before drowning.
okay that would make a neet mod if you wanted a little realism but that would be very irritating so if you could make it an option yes
I really don't like how you have to throw stuff into water to make it the original thing.
Yeah, that's really stupid.
Rain should make a small layer of water on blocks.
Rain should make a small layer of water on blocks.
Something like snow? Or maybe all blocks could have a dry look, a wet look, and frosted look for all the biomes appropriately. It's probably too much work, but it would be neat.
