"HALT! HALT! HALT! HALT! HALT!" and "VENGEEEANNNCE" are forever ingrained in my brain. Unfortunately, Bethseda likes to have a class in every game they develop that can do absolutely everything (even Fallout 3). A battlemage type character that wears full plate armor and casts any spell is invincible and easy to do. Other fun ways to break the game: Player made spells - Balancing spellmaking is a hard task and one they were certainly not up to. I don't even have to explain this. You'll find overpowered crazy shit without even trying. Spell absorption - Already overpowered in it's own right, when mixed with and area of effect kill everything spell you can infinitely cast it constantly without cost or risk as entire towns are instantly killed. Banks - Go to a region and take out the max loan. Leave the region. Congrats on free money with no real consequences. Stores - Going into a town and using the low level unlock spell pretty much meant you can loot the town blind with no risk. Money is no object. Going from town to town trying to find rare items was essentially like taking a level 99 character in Diablo on a cow level run to farm items. I'm pretty sure I have a list of the best towns in the Daggerfall regions as well as a list of very rare and interesting player houses somewhere. I know the best dungeon was in Daggerfall, called Den of M______ (something I can't remember). At high level it always had human battlemages that dropped the expensive stuff. I remember eastwick and Kirkcart Wood having a large amount of shops to steal from, good player homes, and easy logistics to guild. I'd also suggest you try playing as a character that has absolutely no magical abilities whatsoever. It's one of the only challenging ways to play (joining the Temple of Julianos makes up for the lack of some Mage Guild abilities).
Aw shit... Does anyone know why it worked after I installed it, but now whenever I try to load it only shows me the beginning movie of "Daggerfall" and then it's frozen at the Start new game or load game screen?
Bethesda is my second favorite company.
Arena is amazing too, fucking love that game
Fucking- I just bought/beat Daggerfall too...
:D Yes fucking finally!
Hell yes!
I've gotten it to work, and it's much easier to play than Arena. You can change all of the settings, and even use mouse look. EDIT: Though it is very awkward that your character can be naked. EDIT: Just look at that sexy posture. EDIT: Oh, and look at those embezzling tits.
[tab]Look at dem dam sexy pixls[/tab] [editline]07:31PM[/editline] Can I play this in windowed? I haven't downloaded it yet but I want to know first.

:D [editline]07:35PM[/editline] Oh man... I have to enter that stuff every time I play? Nvm.
I got lost in the instructions on how to play it, so I'm just imagining it :D
I remember playing this when I was about 8. One of the best games I've ever played. <3 Bethesda
GUYS GUYS HERES SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Make a DOSbox shortcut in the same directory as the main .exe 2. Drag .exe onto DOSbox shortcut 3. Play the fuck out of Daggerfall
Shit, can't get it to work. It installed fine and even starts but when I get to the screen to select my province it crashes. Balls.
FFFFFfffffffffffffff I'm stuck with it giving me "I NEED CD HURF DURF"
I wonder if someone could put this on the psp
FFFFFfffffffffffffff I'm stuck with it giving me "I NEED CD HURF DURF"
You can't have any CD in your actual D: drive. Also, follow: http://static.bethsoft.com/downloads/games/daggerfall_legal_and_installation.pdf
Convinced me to download the game.
You horny fucker.
:D [editline]07:35PM[/editline] Oh man... I have to enter that stuff every time I play? Nvm.
You really aren't going to play just because you have to type a few bits of text every time you want to play?
You really aren't going to play just because you have to type a few bits of text every time you want to play?
I would rather double click and play.
Convinced me to download the game.
All of the women NPCs in the game also have large tits.
I would rather double click and play.
You wouldn't have survived the late 80s early 90s.
Is there any way to get dos box to create a shortcut that runs a set of commands for me? If I have to I'll type it all by hand, but a shortcut would be rad.
http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/DOSBoxShortcuts This maybe will work. I haven't finished downloading Daggerfall yet though, so I can't test it.
This has been free for a while hasn't it? Oh well, downloading now.
no, you're thinking of Arena, the first game. still, pretty cool that bethesda did this. I'd say "nostalgia'd", but the first Elder Scrolls game I ever played was Morrowind.
Eww it's 3D? I thought this game was 2D.
Good guide on how to install and run dos games with dosbox. http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=8933
I also get that "you have the wrong CD inserted." Really depressing after I installed it and everything. Got it fixed! I used http://uesp.net/wiki/General:Playing_DOS_Installments_under_DOSBox If you get "The CD isn't in," or whatever after you install, just type "fall z.cfg" to run the game while in "C:\"
I did that but the mouse doesn't activate?
For anybody who couldn't run, and kept getting the error "Cd required blah blah", you are in luck! I found a Nocd that runs it just fine; no issues whatsoever. If you want i can upload it for you guys.
Nevermind, it was because my joystick was plugged in..
