I did too on every playthrough following my first.
call of duty 2: Big red one. I loved the characters.
Oh god [sp]brooklyn and denley[/sp]
Characters whose deaths made me feel sad:
Saint's Row 2 - [sp]Carlos[/sp]
[sp]Am I the only one who couldn't care less about Carlos? I was actually quite glad when he died, because his mexican/spanish-accent was annoying.[/sp]
MGS3: [sp]I shed a manly tear when Big Boss (Naked Snake) did a salute by The Boss' grave.[/sp]
MGS4: [sp]A lot of manly tears where shed at the fucking epic and long ending which I would like to call a masterpiece. Solid Snake didn't shoot himself after all, and then Big Boss (Naked Snake) comes and explains a lot of things before he dies while leaning against his mentor's tombstone. This has to be the best ending in any video-game ever (in my opinion). [/sp]
[sp]Cpt. Price from CoD4[/sp] :911:
He was such a cool guy.

[sp]that was gaz? I thought it was a generic soldier.[/sp]

How many other Generic soldiers wore basball caps and had beards? :)
And had that brilliant accent :D
I usually don't get attached to game characters, but one time in Hearts of Iron 2, I had a balls-to-the-wall awesome Marshal leading my invasion of the Soviet Union, when one day he died in battle against overwhelming russian numbers.
I got so mad I moved my whole airforce to the eastern front and launched a 3 year air campaign with the goal of killing as much civilians as possible. The war ended only a month shy of 3 years of successfull devastating air raids on major soviet population centers. Fortunately it was just in time to prevent the western front, now in desperate need of air support, from collapsing.
Yeah, let's hope I never make president.
I would vote for you. :v:

Why are you Using an American one?
Gaz and Price are British...
I shed a manly tear when [sp] you have to burn Red [/sp] in Penumbra.
It was sad enough to listen to him go mad over the radio...
I really liked your teammates in Rainbow Six: Vegas.
I didn't really care when [sp]Dad died in Fallout. I saw him, like, twice.[/sp]
I liked Chernov too. He was always picked on and he didn't deserve [sp]to die (I didn't actually notice him dying until Resnov said it aloud.[/sp]
In Fallout 3 I encountered a Deathclaw I named Kruger. Of course it tried to kill me all the time, but that's just why I shot it's legs out. I would let it follow me around, sort of like a pet, until I accidentally stumbled across a patrol of Outcasts, who killed Kruger...
Needless to say, I had some new Power Helmets to add to my growing collection.
[sp]Every gears of war 2 death - carmine, tai, maria (Dom's wife)
Eli in HL2[/sp]
I can't think of others at the moment, but the gears of war 2 deaths sorta shocked me.
I felt sad when [sp] Maya Amano dies at the end of Persona 2: Innocent Sin. [/sp]
So I was playing CODWAW the other night, and I played through the entirety of the campaign in about eight hours. Now, as all good stories go, certain major characters died. I expected this.
What I did not expect was such an emotional reaction to their passing.
If you haven't played CODWAW and don't want the story revealed, the rest is in spoiler tags.
[sp]So at the final portion of the final American mission, Roebuck or Polansky will die, depending on your actions. I saved Polansky, not knowing this, and Roebuck died. I just stood over his corpse for a full 15 seconds, completely stunned. I watch the ending American cutscene, and almost cry as Polansky hands me Roebuck's dogtags. I later went through again and saved Roebuck, because I like him better. (He was voiced by Keifer Sutherland, the guy who plays Jack Bauer in 24.)
I play the final Soviet missions, and in the 2nd to last one dies, Pvt. Chernov dies via flamethrower-wielding Nazi. Once again, I'm stunned, and just stare as he takes his last breaths. Sgt. Reznov takes his diary, which he berated Chernov for writing earlier, saying that nobody would read it, and says "Somebody... should read this.". At the end, Reznov gives an inspiring, but short speech, and I just want to say to him "I agree completely!".[/sp]
Anyways, I also get attached to awesome characters who don't die, such as Sgt. Reznov, or Alyx Vance, or even minor characters such as Griggs and Sheckley.
My question is, is this normal? Is anyone else like this?
[sp] How do you save either character in the American missions? And didn't Chernov just get wounded by the flamethrower[/sp]
What if I get attached to every one of my minions in Evil Genius? Every time I see they are about to get killed, I make them do something else.
I was sad when my freinds in STALKER died cause I had spent so much time with them defending the base. Then i met someothers at a bus stop and they still live.
my response in hl2 ep2 when eli died i said " what! eli cant die! WTF!"
I lol'd when [sp]the french commander got ambushed and killed[/sp] in WiC
but cried when [sp]bannon got burned by the nuke [/sp]
I get attached to almost every character in every game ever, even if they don't have a name. I have a saving people complex, especially in oblivion, whenever I have people with me that can die I always try my absolute hardest to make sure they make it through the mission alive.

[sp]Baurus died in the battle for bruma for me =( I was so sad I took his armor and has katana and made him a shrine at cloud ruler temple[/sp]
Im not proud of this....but this has happend to me in the past. I had a crush on one of Quake 3 Arena's female characters for about a month and a half...I was able to combat this by brutaly killing her 999 times in cheat-enabled combat.
