I was in the EU beta and the high latency made car handling a bitch.

It's true. I can't tell you home many times my car swerved due to lag during the beta. Usually I just had someone else drive. It's a lot better when I'm on the US, but when it spikes...
Also, as far as symbols go, I'm making a few, if anyone would like requests. As of now I'm making a profile shot of Goofy.
Here is my reference picture:

As far as color, I'll be adding it after I'm finished.
Whipped up in 10 minutes, been driving around in the Pre-order car for ages and got bored of it! Wanted to rep the Facepunch logo with my char name ^^

i have an insane amount of cash from idling and not liking that character so i mail all my money to my main and delete him.
Good to see an appropriate review:

Dunno if it was posted before, but i guess.

All of these are great btw! :D
So I'm confused about this game tbh. Should I get it or shouldn't I? I think the game looks great in the trailers but the reviews are... not good. :( Also how does the monthly payment system work?
Can you buy cards in retail stores that give you more time in the game or is it just online payments?
Basically you buy the game, you then have unlimited free access to the social district where the b0ulk of the games customization takes place, where you can socialize with other players of your faction and the opposite faction.
You have to pay to enter the Action district's (Financial & Waterfront) where.. the action happens, though you do get 50 hours when you first buy the game. You then use up these hours when you are in the action district, you can refill these hours by purchasing RTW points that can then be spent on gametime.
You can refill hours with points, or pay a monthly subscription. Buying hours is more cost effective if you aren't using up enough gametime to constitute playing monthly and vice versa.
The reason you are made to buy points to replenish hours is because you can earn these points through ingame currency and selling ingame items; this means that throughout your actions ingame you can pay for your own subcription fee and the game becomes effectively free to play.
I've already bought about 3 months of gametime on the back of ingame currency :D
Stabba NL9 is pretty sweet. Sniper rifle accuracy, and it only takes 2 shots to stun someone.
Time between shots is a little high though, as it's a pump shotgun.
Edit:
Oh, and I just got Cuffmates MKIII. 30% faster arrests.
I've been reading the awful reviews bombing APB.
I have one gripe that I'll pick out on. Half the gaming community doesn't seem to be able to drive a fucking car using WDAD and the Spacebar as the handbrake, or they cannot afford a internet connection that isn't a tin can and a piece of string.
Seriously, I read tons of posts of people bitching in Beta about driving, people bitching now about driving. The first time I got in a car, yes it felt a tiny bit slow. It took me a minute to compensate and then I was slamming round corners at high speed between cars and pulling donuts outside my contact points.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE.
Also PC Gamer can suck my ass, Rich you rolled your car because you went round a corner at top speed?! DUH
All the people who are going on and on about APB not having what it takes to be a sustainable MMO, it'll burn out and fade away? Very possible! I wonder how many people remember what WoW looked like before the YEARS of polishing and patches!
Everyone seems to think this is the finished product, well I'm having a more positive outlook. If RTW are the group of people I hope they are this will be the foundation. I'll be proved wrong or right when if in a few months we have a major patch |:
Time will tell!

Yes Broni, everyone is bad at driving EXCEPT you.
all of the reviewers have got it wrong, you are right.
the handling was shocking, reviewers saying this are absolutely right.
I agree with Broni, the driving is really easy to get into and i have no trouble driving around at top speed without crashing. Not to mention i haven't gotten any lag since the beta.
I also found it quite easy to drive. It took a bit of getting used to but I'm completely fine with it.
I got rolled by Killz2much and team OCA. :(
It's bad enough I get like 10fps, muzzleflashes make it worse (don't get me started about the SHAW).
God damn reading this thread and the knowledge of being able to actually play with the facepunchers has made me want this game again after hating it so much. God damn its stupid pricetag though :crying:

Awesome.
Anyway, I recently made an Enforcer and I'm already threat lvl 11, stuff is awesome. Really fun to create a new char and meet all the low ranks.
Driving is terrible in this game.
The only reason some people (including me) have gotten better at it is because we have gotten use to it. Doesn't make it less of a frustrating experience. Most of the vehicles handle like syrup covered bricks sliding around a corner made of ice.
I'm good at driving, but only when I'm not lagging. Which is never. I've heard that it's dual core CPUs that make FPS stutter and drop to zero constantly. The most FPS I get is about 40, and that's in the social district, staring at the floor, in a corner. In the action districts, I probably average 20. When there's a big fight, about 5. Just to clarify, I can run the game on maximum and minimal settings, with no difference in FPS.
It's horrible. It's the memory leak, and the CPU problems combined.
I honestly stay awake at night, playing APB, wondering why the fuck I bought a game that runs THIS BAD.
Other than the horrible performance, the majority of the community being shit, the developers doing jack shit about the spammers and the game's instability, the bullshit matchmaking, and how enforcers have an incredibly unfair advantage, the game is great. So basically just the customization is good. And even then, it has tons of flaws. The whole goddamn point of using a vinyl system is, besides making it a little harder to draw dicks on everything, is because vinyls are easy to manipulate (i.e. skew, size, rotate) while still maintaining a crisp, fine edge. This game just doesn't even give two shits about your symbols getting horribly low-res. It also imposes ridiculously small limits, such as the 40 items of clothing limit, and the 100 layers on a car limit.
To sum it up, the game is great. But it's so hard to get to the good parts.
Yup still waitin for a patch

Let's go ahead and mention the trollforcers that follow criminals around, ram them off the road, and then witness the criminals when they're FORCED to run over civilians.

Yeah that's not very fun
That's why I always use my fast car

Yeah the game is definatley not optimized for dual cores.
I am running the game perfect now.
Was on a shitty single core and 2gb ram,
got about 5-15fps. Now i get 60fps here are my specs:
CPU= AMD Phenom 9850 Quad Core
MB= ASUS M4A785-M
RAM= 6GB DDR2
GFX= ATI Radeon 4850
I'm having nasty audio problems on top of all the others in the game, anytime a car crashes, or a gun is fired everything goes really echo-ey so every sound is played 4 or 5 times, and the rest of the time it crackles and pops.
I updated my onboard audio drivers, which did nothing; I've now stuck in and updated a soundblaster audigy 4 card, which has done nothing.
Anyone got a fix? I've yet to do anything that affects it at all
Or other player drivers who are just bad. I don't even mean griefers, just awful drivers.
I have the same graphics card as the above but a dual core and I run at 20 FPS
Definitely the processor.

I love my charge cisco to death, but due to the FPS issues I pretty much end up in a wall with a family wedged in my front bumper.
and not to mention, the car hit physics sucks as well
nudge a car, flip all over the fucking place
I rolled down a ramp out of one of the car garages, jammed the handbrake, and my car did a stoppie. wat
my fucking charge cisco balanced on its front two wheels for a solid 3 seconds
