I downloaded the latest punkbuster already, and I am not running steam while playing 2142..
Can anyone post link do newest patch ? It says I have older version, though I believe I have 1.51

One of the BF2142 guys said they wanted people to play the beta for another week
At a guess it's because once 1.51 is released they have no plans on updating it anymore so any issues that aren't found in the beta will be left in the game. To be honest I think releasing it on Steam early might be a good idea as it'd probably result in a rush of players who are willing to play the beta.
I can't even get 1.51 to install. Tried 1.4 too, using the regedit modification to change version number to try and get it to work. Pissing me off.
This has been taking way too long to come out for Steam. My interest has dropped.

Totally missed that, my fault.
I looked high and low around my house for my 2142 CD key, but to no avail.
However I did get a couple consolation prizes:

I also heard that northern strike is free. Is that true?

It is now February 3rd, why is this game STILL not on Steam?

I'd say update it with their software but sounds like you already did that
PB is really a dick
If you run certain BF games with steam(startup through steam) it'll give an error. You can have steam running, just don't play 2142 through it.

Anyone have any guesses on the price for the steam release? I'm expecting $20 but I'm hoping for $10. I made the mistake of purchasing BF2 "Complete" for $20 on Steam when I could have just bought it in retail for $10.

The nearest store near me with a retail 2142 is in Kentucky, and I live in North Carolina. The convenience of STEAM is worth the $10 extra in my opinion anyway.

I just realised two things. This group isn't official and they're late. The way they worded the article made it seem as though 2142 was going to be released soon. The truth is that their source was posted on Feb 1st and is actually the same link as the one I posted earlier.
I got the deluxe edition, so I've always had NS. It's alright. Goliath maps are pretty cool.
