That happened to me but luckily I found it under my desk.
I wrote my CD key [i]on[/i] the CD so if it ever happens again, I'll still have it. :ohdear:

My old PC was so bad i could only play knife fight servers, and i couldnt go near buildings i had to stay on the rail tracks in camp Gibraltar :smithicide:
But now: Quad core 2.4, 4Gb RAM, HD 4670 i might re-install this.
Oh no i got a Digital Download copy and now i might have to re-buy it!
1.51 Patch is awesome, i still play BF 2142 with it. Free Northern Strike.
I just hope they'll fix Sentry exploit, it's really annoying in Titan mode.

If it's anything around 10/15 euro i'll probably re-buy it.
I seem to have lost my game but luckily it's registered to my EA account and I got my CD-Key, now I can download it.
Alright so the no CD patch doesn't sit well with punkbuster. It was worth a shot though.

Yeah, every time I joined a server it kicked me after about 2 minutes saying something like, "Invalid service/driver" or something similar.
damn, I loved this game, but punkbuster apparently hates me, just like everyone else
Well, it might only be for the CD installed version. Maybe for the download version you don't need it.

Actually wait, I think the issue I had was launching the game with steam. I'm gonna try the no cd patch without steam and see how it works.

I lost my CD key for Battlefield 2. Asked them for a new CD Key. In the nicest way they could, they told me to buy the game again. Another reason why I hate EA :frown:. Hate to spoil this for you but they will probably do the same knowing them.
Also anyone else gets kicked from Punkbuster with blank reasons? Happens to me a lot. On occasion I can play a full round without getting kicked. Asked punkbuster customer service a year ago and told me it had to do with steam community tab. Unfortunately sometimes turning that off doesn't work well at all.
I am willing to play the game with Facepunch, just as long as Punkbuster doesn't BS me.

Emm, how long have you been on a server? Punkbuster kicks you if you have changed .exe
I've been on for about 15 minutes
It said failed to install BF2142.Please try again from the beginning.

I haven't played a lot of this game, I only had it a bit before my computer died then I never reinstalled, mostly cause I didn't have it on steam
I hope I can activate the retail key on steam once it's released on it.
Time to find my CDs and reinstall this.

Mine wouldn't work in the DL manager.

Pro tip for people with Windows 7 / huge-ass resolutions: Set your launch switches to something like this:

where XRESxYRES (for example, 1920x1080). Normally fixes crashing, if it doesn't try updating punkbuster manually.

If you log in to EA Downloader with the EA account you used for 2142 you *should* be able to download it there!
