If you bought it and it's assigned to an EA account, download EADM and sign in, you might be able to download it. Worked for me.

I love Battlefield 2142, I have to find my disc. I'll rebuy the Steam version when it comes out for the Steam support/servers.

Please tell me 1.51 also removes the ability to fucking RDX jump. It's a scourge on servers that have no friendly fire and play Fall of Berlin and Belgrade. There are also exploits people use to get inside buildings that have no entry points, and they can shoot from and exit wherever they want. I fail to see how this fared worse then Battlefield 2.

So is anyone else going to try the no cd patch? It's working for me atm and I don't get kicked. Maybe if one or two more people try then we can be sure it's safe for everyone.

The soundtrack to this game is fucking awesome too. All the loading themes to the maps. Just played a few rounds and got gold star every time except the last one since it was Fall of Berlin, the map where people constantly use exploits. I even had the chance to roofcamp myself but I gave the cunts the benefit of the doubt. We still won 127 - 0 despite the fact they were using every trick in the book. Medals, pins and ribbons it's fine but as soon as I click on a badge to check what I need for it, it's like "Fuck you" and closes.

Just played the worst possible game. No one on my team knows what they're doing and the only ones attacking their titan are me and some other guy who keeps camping instead of actually helping. A single guy with a turret and rocket spam managed to defend the entire titan while the rest of my team gets slaughtered either defending the titan with grenades or attempting to get silos even though we could've won instantly by attacking the titan interior.

I love this game, been thinking about reinstalling it sometime soon. This thread is helping spur that process. Even when this comes out on steam, probably still going to buy it again just for the ease of having it on steam.

I've noticed that not a lot of people take the commander position, which is actually a massive points cow waiting to be milked.

If you do one thing wrong or don't throw a supply crate down for a certain squad, instant mutiny. Plus some servers have a no combat rule for commanders which can be a bore.

I have this game, but I lost the stupid security code to even install the damned thing. Any ideas on getting it to work?

Most players just want to rambo it themselves meaning you won't get half the points you would do otherwise. Also they can't be commander at the same time as fighting on about half the servers going, ie the "No fighting commander" rule. It's one I disregard, however, and on small (10v10ish) matches I've ended up with about 100 points (Doubled from 50) from ordering a 2 man squad about, using the UAV and other assets and all the kills I've got with ye olde voss. However, as commander individual kills don't factor into your score as far as I can tell, but the pins do. A protip is, if your team is about to win try to go commander. Another one; People don't seem to realise that there are three levels of zoom on the capslock screen for the commander. On the last level of zoom you can actually see the 3d game world, and that means anything in it. So if you've not got a UAV or Sat scan available, zoom right in to where you suspect enemies might be and you'll be able to spot them that way. Pan with W, A, S and D. I fucking love Titan game mode, the only one I play when I do. I would add my name to the list, but I've forgotten what it is, and after my recent format don't have the game installed to check...

I'm gonna wait for the Steam version. I've had lots of fun with BC2 and I want to play more of the Battlefield franchise.

I mean, fair enough if there's someone more experienced than me willing to take it up then that's fair play! But it's such a vital position with so many things that can help your team that it's silly that it should be vacant. That being said, I just got kicked from the DETHKLOK server for apparently being idle, despite doing UAVs, supply drops, spotting people, etc. I rejoined asking why I got kicked, he said it was because I wasn't spotting enough people. I had my hands full trying to figure out where to send people and where to deploy EMPs / UAVs! I even managed to rejoin the same team, so five minutes later and there's no commander! I point this out and he decides to kick me again saying "just play the game noob" which doesn't work. I tell him it's always easier to kick someone than to realise you're being a colossal idiot, to which he kicks me for "Griefing" Despite all that crap I'm still going to be commander when there's no-one else doing it. My win to loss ratio is something like 4:1 and I'm pretty sure it's because I take the commander role most of the time.

Fuck, now I've gotta reinstall the game just to patch back up to 1.5 (I installed 1.51). Damnit.

Even with the expansion, i just cannot join server with the new map.
