On the subject of the FP server: 2 questions: 1. is it teamwork requiring server? 2. is it a 24/7 *insert overrated map here*

I'd say yes to 1 and a definitely no to 2.

I'd actually like to see us to some stupid stuff on there, rather than "just playing the game." Although nothing comes to mind.

Worth it? I can't say I really like BF2, but this seems very different.

Guniv, 2142 is good, but BF:Vietnam is definitley the better game. I don't count Bad Company games as true Battlefield games, they're shite.

BF:Vietnam is an extremely unbalanced game but it does have its charms, such as being one of the few decent multiplayer Vietnam FPSes. But, calling it better than 2142 is ridiculous... though they're both pretty damn different games with their own strengths and weaknesses. Never played BC2 but I played BC1 on my friend's 360 and can definitely say that it was terrible.

So, we got a server? Can't wait to play 2142 with team work the way it was meant to be played.

How did I miss this for 4 days? I am installing again, then I will find out what my soldier name is, them I will add myself to the database. Also steam group for easy working of matches? And this had better live on. The other 3 "FP *insert game here* group"s I have been in died after 2 months top. FPAHL was great fun though.

2142 is like if BF2 was balanced. And looked cool. Sans the whole 4 classes console crap and pointlessly difficult to fly aircraft.

I hate that in BF2 you need to shoot two headshots with most guns. Not in 2142 anymoew.

I would play 2142 more often If they reduced respawn times, balanced the weapons and made the game more team based (making maps smaller, redoing maps to create choke points) [editline]6th January 2011[/editline] Oh and they need to make it so if you go prone it takes a second and you can't shoot within that second. Because a lot of people just drop to the ground and prone when they're in a fight.

If you want to stay hovering you've got to tap the trust key every now and then rather than hold it down! I dislike the current team state because In fights there's only around 2-5 people on each side fighting each other. (Unless you play 24/7 Camp Gibraltar) It's lonewolf most of the time and I hate that. Also if you spawn at a point and there's no transport anywhere it's such a pain in the ass to walk to the action.

Also that video was 7 clips with a total size of 27 gigabytes merged into one video. Final size was 1.36 GB People not joining squads doesn't even make sense. If you join a squad you have an additional spawn point available to you, meaning that you could get even closer to an objective or get into an advantageous position. You also get bonus points for completing objectives that the commander or squad leader has set.

Fuck. saw this and thought it was battlefield 2. was gonna join straight away, may make a thread soon, but i haven't got the time to do it right.

I will buy this when it becomes available on Steam, then I'll join you guys. Also first post of page 9. If I remember correctly, I heard that there was map named Belgrade in 2142, and that it's played a lot. Not sure tho.
