That grenade model looks kinda stupid in my opinion ...
The animations are great and all, however I don't feel as if they are half life worthy. I personally like the way how Half-Life sticks to simplistic yet interesting animations for everything. These animations look like they belong in call of duty or something of that nature.

I reversed all Mesa Mix tracks. They're designed to replace existing BM tracks, so back up your black mesa directory and paste these in.
I liked the Black Mesa grenade. I would've rather seen him reanimate that instead.
the one thing that urks me about his animations is he seems to be in love with adding random sways of the hands after using a weapon (i.e. grenade, RPG)
Going to edit the animation for a version with the default BMS model (just for the grenade).
Retracting my previous disappointment
If he's changing the grenade model, why doesn't he base it off the M67 Frag?
So much better than the grenade in the default BMS (and HL1 for that matter)

Pretty weak as far as 'poops' go.
Made a FEAR (Replica Soldier) sound back for the Human Soldiers, thread on Black Mesa Forums, dropbox download (might upload it to gamebanana later or something).
It only covers non-scripted scenes so far, I dunno if I'll make a version that changes that or not.

True, my other replacement (just the hgrunt_young sounds and some modified files for 'em) can be found earlier in the thread as well (or here).
Better than the try-hard 'gruff' voices (imo) and still fits in with the scripted scenes.
I'm gonna be downloading Black Mesa sometime in the near future. Anything you guys would recommend I get along with it to improve the experience?
Take a look on the BM section in FPSBanana. There are fixes, the "original" turret model and more.

Surface Tension Uncut is great, it doesn't mess with the original other than adding more areas.

Is there a noticeable difference in quality between the original map and the new (old) areas?
Is there a noticeable difference in quality between the original map and the new (old) areas?
No, the Surface Tension Uncut mod just adds the parts from the original HL that were cut in the same style, it looks a bit less impressive but it's hardly noticeable.
Personally I think the transition is near flawless, aside from mild frame drops during the intense NPC battles, namely the first and last major ones.

Waiting eagerly for on a rail uncut, and the black mesa animation project thing-y. Going to play through BMS again with OAR uncut, surface tension uncut, the redone animations, and maybe, just maybe, if theres any news on it, might wait for Xen release.
I wish someone would make a temporary Xen so I could do a marathon of the Valve games.

Dude, If someone even did a temporary xen, it would either be piss short, or not be done by the time BM get's done with theirs.. Most people would rather wait a couple of months than shell out for some 5 minute, terribly done map that was horribly put together out of BM resources.
What if the Xen delay is just looking for someone to do the Gman's lines at the end?

Guy who voices the security guards is doing Gman just as Michael Shapiro did in the games
The BM Trailer, the sound clip of G-Man saying "Unforeseen Consequences", that wasn't from EP2, it was a recording from their Voice Actor.

I just wish people weren't shooting at nothing while he said it :T
With the physics props now cut down and my map's entity count now sitting at around 1700, the gibbing issue has gone away, and that's with the prefight still using an inefficient entity setup!
What this means is that I can DEFINITELY release tomorrow evening, now that this major bug is "squashed". I can worry about making the prefight entity setup more efficient a little bit later. This does mean I have very limited room for expansion, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. This is good news.
OaR uncut alpha coming tomorrow.
