Dear god, man, what are you doing?
Painting the lab a nice shade of green ofc
I found a way to get the HL2 crowbar back in BMS. First off, delete the v_crowbar models in BMS/models/weapons. It will work, however the FOV will be a bit off, like this. [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/542942346011367598/48D08927F4558A8627C30309F295D6A29E5B056A/[/t] See the hands? So, what you want to do next is go to scripts and open weapon_crowbar.txt Under the line that says "anim_prefix" put this fov "65" **You don't have to set it to 65, set it to your liking. If you do set it to 65 however, the end of the arm (and some empty parts of the model) will show if you aim the crowbar up and attack.** It's not that noticeable however, though. After that, the FOV should be fixed, like this. [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/1136292718668648952/C57636CDF951F1D21444315A58F4596AE53CB3FF/[/t] Enjoy! It still uses the old bugged HL2 hand rigs though. -Rockman and SFC-
The hand rig is still HL2's and therefore will appear bugged, i tried it. Also backwards compatibility. Use the BM skin on your HL2 crowbar. May work for 357 (unsure)
I don't like the BMS crowbar. It swings too rigid for my taste.
I don't like the BMS crowbar. It swings too rigid for my taste.
It is incredibly stiff.
Any news on it being on steam?
Any news on it being on steam?
I'm more interested to know what surprise they said they "may have" with the steam release. If it's a surprise, it should be more than bug fixes and performance improvements.
I'm more interested to know what surprise they said they "may have" with the steam release. If it's a surprise, it should be more than bug fixes and performance improvements.
Xen, probably.
Xen, probably.
If the steam release takes a year to happen... Yeah, you're right.
What I would like to see in Steam release, would be porting it to newer build, something like Half life 2 enhancement team is doing, not for the visuals, but for better optimisation and better AI. Extremely unlikely, but I would love that.
Couldn't someone just re-animate the BMS crowbar to be better rather then trying to get the HL2 crowbar working correctly?
you do know that would take lots of effort and would TAKE away from xen developing time?
This is why I said it's extremely unlikely.
I just waited thirty minutes for the guy at the reception desk to follow me in to the vent. Damn. [editline]10th November 2012[/editline] And I soaked up zombie hits for him. Ungrateful bastard

I can't get past the room where it's game over if you blow up a single box. Tripmines are so much harder to avoid in Black Mesa than HL1.

Playing through surface tension from the beginning because I'm using the linked version. You know, if the helicopter battle wasn't so cheap it could have been really badass. I mean, there are tons of places to fight along the cliffside instead of just in that cavern. If they had it so the helicopter was worse at damaging you but was better at avoiding missiles, or could shoot down your missiles, it could have been an awesome fight along the cliffs.
Damn, if only the BM team worked this fast. Anyways, looking good so far.
are you guys already on a v4?
Can anyone upload all the models for the BM marine? I got a crappy skin and forgot to back up the models folder so now the marines show up purple unless I use the shitty skin.
Okay wow. So far, I'm not too impressed at the maps from a gameplay standpoint, since it seems like it was made more for the NPCs than the player. It also doesn't run too well, at least now for me. However, the beginning of the second map fucking blew me away. That huge battle with the music and everything is just perfect. He excellently portrayed a large scale battle between the aliens and the military. My only complaint is that it takes place in a relatively small area. If this was done in a bigger, more open space, it would be even better. Just finished it. I hate to say it, but I think he kind of overdid the whole alien/human war thing. Yeah it's awesome to see all of these enemies fight each other, but after the fighting is done, there are still too many enemies. A lot of them are in areas I couldn't even see at first. It doesn't help that there were barely any health/suit energy items. Also the marines keep winning most of the battles in the second map. And there were a couple of missing textures, along with this weird thing that happened whenever I zoomed in with the crossbow: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/594734863526382008/E88164CDE7E3AB7C83130B8C4190376EF1CB52E3/[/t] And it's still weird how the gargantua just ignores all of the other enemies and attacks the player directly. But overall, it was still pretty awesome. He just needs to tweak it some more and it will be great.
Yeah, I'm playing it and there are way too many enemies to fight during those wars. My fps stays pretty smooth most of the time, except whenever the mantas blow something up. But for me, the aliens have won all the engagements, but it seems like if you don't help the winning side before the battle is over you get fucked pretty bad. That being said, the large battles are pretty damn cool. I ran into a couple of glitches, like the garage door at the beginning of the parking garage showing the skybox, and the ladder into the snark vents releasing me either outside of the vent or in the wall.

I'll try it out.
the BM team should seriously consider contacting this guy about using his maps in the next patch
That would be pretty cool.
