I can't believe so many people pick the soldier class. Not having tech/biotics cuts out nearly all of the fun in the combat. It just becomes a Gears of War pop-and-shoot borefest as a soldier.
That's what you have squadmates for. Shooting just feels so much better than "I pressed 4 now this blue ball will weaken his armor/I pressed 3 and he lost his shields" Sentinel armor was great though (until ME3 ruined it, anyway)

With powers, you can hook them and combine them and do all kinds of awesome shit. Nothing is more satisfying that suspending someone into the air and then using throw putting an awesome arc on it so they're sent off in some crazy direction. Curving powers never gets old. Especially in ME2 when you could put such crazy curves on things, they'd end up spazzing out and spinning in super tight circles while slowly approaching the target. Coolest thing ever.
That's right; setting up biotic combos rocks.

I love hooking an enemy round a corner with a cryo blast and then smashing them into a thousand pieces with a few well placed shots.
But shooting is just bang bang bang until their HP reaches zero.
um yeah we hate to break the news to you, but biotics are just 'woosh woosh woosh until their hp is zero' [editline]23rd March 2013[/editline] CONCUSSIVE SHOT 4 LYFE
Look at you cowards bickering among yourselves. Just charge at people and shoot them in the face with a shotgun. Throw in a melee every now and again. That's how you do it.
Gonna replay ME1. What's better, Sentinel or Engineer? I've already played Soldier, Adept, Vanguard, and Infiltrator.
Gonna replay ME1. What's better, Sentinel or Engineer? I've already played Soldier, Adept, Vanguard, and Infiltrator.
Well, Sentinel has an absurd amount of damage output. Like, holy hell can that thing dish out damage.
no, real men go engineer and bring tali and legion drones and sentries everywhere. enjoy my mini army, i'll be WAY back here.
Charge, Nova, Shotgun. Rinse repeat.
no, real men go engineer and bring tali and legion drones and sentries everywhere. enjoy my mini army, i'll be WAY back here.
This is definitely the best tactic. Release the drone hordes!
Charge, Nova, Shotgun. Rinse repeat.
I found that a fully maxed out Nova negated the need to use a shotgun, so I took a lighter weapon, that was still fun as hell, The Lancer
Well, Sentinel has an absurd amount of damage output. Like, holy hell can that thing dish out damage.
Yeah, because Kaidan was badass in ME1.
Uhh, technical question here. I reinstalled ME2 this morning, and upon launching it gave me an error message saying "Failed to initialize the pysics system. Please ensure you have an updated version of the PhysX System Software installed". So, I downloaded the most recent drivers, but to no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, and still no luck. Any ideas? It was working fine two days ago.
/Mass Effect 2/redist/PhysX_9.09.0814_SystemSoftware.exe run that.
You're my savior.
On my second playthrough of the ME's right now, and thought I'd go Vanguard instead of Soldier. Holy hell have I been missing out. Biotics are freaking awesome.
who the fuck didn't cure the genophage freaking assholes that's who
I'm on this mission right now actually Thinking about not curing it lol Reason? 1. Wrex and all the good characters involved with the krogran plot (just wrex right?) are dead so instead I'd have to deal with the asshole krogan being in charge 2. I'm a renegade shepard 3. It would be nice if we didn't have to deal with a war between humans and krogan in the future as they enevitably restart their overpopulation and conquest thanks to the fact that (again) they have no preditors/have all this tech they didn't have before, love fighting, and are under the rule of the asshole krogan instead of wrex (who is dead in my game). 4. I'm a renegade shepard My renegade shepard makes choices that are practical ones I'd say. Practically speaking, there's a very low chance of the krogan playing nice with the asshole in charge and the same thing starting again, and practically speaking I'd trust the salarian fleet versus a bunch of radiated war frogs. (of course if I ever get around to doing a full paragon play through I'd totally save them lol) [editline]24th March 2013[/editline]
that's the funny part to me 8% didn't cure but only 3.8% shot mordin so either 4.2% of people shot the other guy, or there's a way to not cure it while leaving mordin alive
Apparently you can convince mordin to "cure it later" assuming wrex is not alive in ME2/3, eve dies (this happens if you destroy relevant geophage data in ME2 related to mordin's loyalty mission), and as such the asshole krogan is the only dude left who pretty much is the sole leader of the krogan. (this happens to be the default state the game is in if you play ME3 without playing the other two) [editline]24th March 2013[/editline] Also, no clue if I should go infil/shadow/whatever it is or vanguard for my paragon playthrough of the series... I hear infil is a lot of fun and it'll likely be a nice change of pace from my current class I've been rolling this whole time (adept). But I had a lot of fun playing vanguard in multiplayer of me3. I just wonder if a biotic-heavy class would be a good idea again or not.
Being a renegade shepard alone isn't a good reason to do anything. Pure renegade and Pure paragon make some stupid choices.
i always roleplay my shepard :B so i end up vaguely neutral
FOV is giving me a headache now. I bet if I were to change it, I'd get an Origin wide ban, too
I just unlocked Krogan Warlord. My god this hammer is hilarious.
So before I go and change my game's Field of View from the vomit-inducing 70 to something like 100, you know, a normal FoV, I decided to go on over to EA and ask for a definitive answer on whether or not I could expect a ridiculous origin account wide ban for doing it [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/BrTLqnH.jpg[/img_thumb] Fucking seriously? I don't believe him, though. He's just sitting there, barely able to speak english I'm sure, covering his bases. I'm going to have a field day if my entire Origin account is banned for just changing my Field of View inside of a game, and so will the internet
I hate dealing with customer service for that exact reason. Generally foreign, can barely understand them, don't know anything about what they or you are talking about. Why should I even bother?
I hate dealing with customer service for that exact reason. Generally foreign, can barely understand them, don't know anything about what they or you are talking about. Why should I even bother?
It's the Mass Effect 3 live chat support, There's not a better question to ask him that he supposedly should be qualified to answer, and he still tried to hand me off. So right there I knew he wouldn't know, and I was kind of hoping he'd say No it wouldn't don't be ridiculous just so IF IT DID happen I could go Hey, Look. But damn am I amazed and disappointed I did it anyway, and my god is the game a 100 times better
Everyone loves infographics!
Forgive my lateness, but how do characters like Garrus and Vega get such high survival rates? Especially over characters like Liara who can die only one time in the entire series(and with the EC I think she can't die at all now), whereas Garrus and Ashley have two games they can die in. Kaidan with 17% survival is somewhat predictable though.
LotSB done, now on to ME3. It was kind of awkward talking to Liara with my dead fish in the background. I always remember to feed them about 3 missions after they died. Apparently it was too long for a merge. My apologies.
