you were unbanned immediately
besides, you insulted all of us
Anyone else think it'd be cool if Notch added reflections in the water and ice?
It'd be cool to walk down to the stream and look in and see yourself in the ripples

Reflections are a resource-hog. Maybe one SMP where the map is generated and held server side the reflections could be rendered client-side.
But it still would look very unnatural in Minecraft.
Why is minecraft updating itself? :ohdear: What have I missed?
Wow snowballs
Update?
Hey, you can pick up snowballs now!
Also, snow is no-longer anti-gravity.
Also, 9 snowballs = 1 snow block, which breaks back into 9 snowballs upon destruction.
Snowballs? Wut?
There has to be something you can craft with them.
No damage with snowballs, there is just pushback.
Either that or it takes more than 64 snowballs to kill a pig, so damage is cosmetic either way.
I made 2 huge castles in venn;s server. One out of wood and one out of cobblestone. They are connected via highway. :V
Automerge. :c
Damage seems to be 1/10 of that of a normal hand. Edit: you can't kill them with snowballs, but it does deal damage. I was able to take a pig out in one hit when I pelted him with 100 snowballs, so there is something that damages the pig.
You can craft a snow block from 9 snowballs, that's pretty cool.

Built in Venn's server.
[quote=Notch]Minecraft Alpha 1.0.5
+ Added snowballs. You can throw them, but they deal no damage
+ Added craftable snow blocks
* Fixed building on snow bug
* Fixed ice rendering bug
* Signs no longer require a free block above them when placing them
* The game no longer saves the level when it crashes. Saving on crashes sometimes broke save files, and that’s not good.
Work on Multiplayer is going really well, and it’s actually starting to get fun. I implemented a fancy mapping between players and level chunks today. It automatically sends terrain data as players move, and keep track of exactly what players are in range of what chunks, for efficient broadcasting.
I will also use it to buffer block changes within chunks to send them as a single compound command, saving a whole bunch of bandwidth.
And there’s now a replaceRegion(int x, int y, int z, byte xSize, byte ySize, byte zSize, byte[] gzipCompressedData) command. The only limitation is that y and ySize both have to be even, but it can be used to quickly send large level updates, and it’s implemented almost directly into the Level class itself, so it can be used to load/replace arbitrary regions of the map. It will probably be quite useful for server mods such as area backups or for resetting the arena between levels in a Spleef mod.
[edit:]
And now snow shouldn’t fall through glass anymore.
