Ok, I fixed my problem. I wanted to have doors open and close at random for a snowball accuracy course. I solved that by having pressure pads in a room with sheep and pigs.

Okay, I've fell down a massive hole, I have never been this far down before, luckily there was water at the bottom, if not I would have died instantly. I've got some diamond, gold, redstone and shitloads of Iron. I really don't want to lose this. It would take me about one whole day (real time) to get back up to the surface. So I'm living underground now.

it doesn't take too much to climb to the top just dig straight up and if sand starts falling on you jump like a motherfucker

Like that /v/ copypasta about the guy who got ambushed by creepers around his shitty first fort, and ended up running into a mine until he hit lava and sealed himself in. Inevitably, provided you had enough wood before going in, or some dirt and saplings, you'll walk out in diamond duds ready to kick ass and chew bubblegum.
