I've made some progress on my village :

It's roughly 60% done, need to build some more houses and make sure every corner of it is illuminated, I have found a shitload of iron and redstone so I can make gates that are remotely controlled.

I hope that as well as seasons notch includes regional locations with different sorts of resource, as well as rain.
The generator should make tropical islands where bananas, coconuts, tobacco and hemp can be cultivated.
Beach coves should be generated which are particularity sandy, and then as you go more inland, you find more forests, plains and so on, eventually leading to mountains with water running down natural streams and rivers to the sea. Waterfalls and other awesome natural features should also be generated.
Atop the huge mountains, snow should exist always, but I'm talking very high mountains, possibly 2-3 times larger than the current skybox.
Rain should only occur in geographically feasible areas, such plains, causing any crops grown to be watered without manual intervention.
Realistically, it should never snow or rain in the desert, and snow should be seasonal, yet crops shouldn't be able to be planted here without ground transplant and artificial watering.
I was thinking different crop types being able to be grown in different seasons, which would be particularly interesting. Another feature made possible by this sort of feature, would be artificial biomes or underground growing of crops, or even simple greenhouses, to allow all types of crops to be grown in any season, even winter, yet obviously require artificial watering as a result.
