I don't put effort at all in leveling gear. He can run Naxxramas just fine, he just better enchant the epics he is being given, or else he's pretty rude and won't be carried through anymore.
Also, DPS can't be good with a bad gear.

Not as good as you might think, you'd still get leftout from VoA groups with leveling gear. :p
afaik it isnt cause whenever I was levelling a level 76 mage joined our group and he was doing 2.5k DPS with his gear.

Pallies aren't boring at all to level, since they can be almost anything.
Tank spec/dps dual spec'ced, is pretty much the most amazing thing you can get.
Either than Feral druids.
Or ret/holy and keep a shield on hand, do all 3.

Same. It makes me feel like it wasn't just spare abyss shards, they don't sell for much anyway.
I like carrying people if they know their class. Carrying BM hunters that pass on upgrades makes me cry.
I wonder, as I'm closing in to 80 on my Rogue.. I keep ending up on 4th or 3rd place in these DPS meters, is this common for levelling Rogues in instances? Sure, I usually go there with level 80's in Guild, but still. And is there any special rotation for DPS as Rogue? I usually just spam Sinister strike, using different "finisher moves" and special attacks depending on the situation.

That's what PvE combat specc is about (afaik), once again I might be horribly wrong because I don't play rogue.
Sinister strike spam, keep up 'Slice And Dice', then do either Rupture or Eviscerate.
Also remember to pop your cooldowns(!!), which means Adrenaline Rush and Killing Spree. Killing Spree on a single target is good damage! Don't use them at the same time I think..
Also remember Use: trinkets.
If you can't get good damage like this, it means the lvl80's in your group are overgearing (obviously) or you need to time your abilities right.
Also use FoK (=Fan of Knives) during trash-packs with more than 3 mobs. It'll get your Overall Damagedone look a bit better I think.
