I mean, if you have water sources in a 3x3x3 cube, and remove the top middle one, it won't regenerate into another water source. The other water will just flow into it and leave a normal "current" block, as opposed to an infinite "source" block. I've never found an apple/golden apple in all the dungeons I've found. Notch needs to add trees like apple trees that drop apples
