Er, well I started making this when everyone was raging about the troll to distract people from said troll, but it took a bit longer than expected, but here it is anyway.
I did the only thing I'm good at and made a map. It also puts the extent of my settlement into perspective.

This is the largest density of my constructions on this map (except the graveyard, logging camp and tavern are now complete, the tavern is known as "The Last Round" and the lighthouse is known as "Daijitsu Point Lighthouse"
Now this is the extent of my current map, after today's boating adventure I am currently at Cavetop Point campsite, but I'm going to return back to West Creek tomorrow.

Why is the graveyard going to be on the shoreline?

It's not really a flyover camera, he just disabled the HUD and arm and flew over some stuff.
For those who don't know, Notch uses flying cheats and inventory hacks often because how else would he test stuff?

The graveyard, by now, is finished.
That is something I considered when building the graveyard - but the solution I made for that is that whenever [I]I[/I] die in the game, I add another grave to the graveyard. Therefore, all the graves in the graveyard, while each reading a different name and humerous message, are all [I]me[/I], and since I respawn, all the graves are actually empty, resulting in no corpses floating through streets.
Also, I built it close to the sea because of that little island, which now contains an eerie mausoleum, complete with buried treasure, cave noises, spooky lighting, and other ethereal stuff.
I'm not lazy, a lot of things are completely redone, it just looks like I ran things through a filter because I wanted to keep the game somewhat the same looking. I didn't even realize the inventory looked that crappy ingame, with the editing in the picture it looked fine, will fix.
To do:
make brown sheep look like actual fur, along with brown wool to match
keep pig cows?
Fix stone issue
change weapons, add boat skin
reskin the mobs to look like bandits and robbers :Smug:
Change the sky
also keep in mind I sent it to a few people for bugfixes like this.
Op's crafting list is out of date - maybe the one [url=http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Crafting]on the wiki[/url] would be better?

You should add more dense clouds, too. Make them grey. You should also make trees look more dead

So wait, your graveyard contains only bodies that don't exist of you from the past, which would mean that only you the player would know that you died, as there is nothing for any inhabitants to find and bury. I think that means that the bodies exi ... bah, I don't know.

2. Put pressure pad on one side of metal door
3. Leave one block's worth of space open above the door, then exit door
4. Every time you want to enter, toss a block above the door with Q so it lands on the pressure pad
