Build up your settlement in between attacks, increase relations with the AI, go on an adventure for more tokens...
Increase relations with the AI?
Increase relations with the AI?
A recent addition to the game is that we can now ally ourselves with the AI tribes. This has a number of benefits, mainly they don't attack us while they're our friends. They can also supply us with tokens and a variety of items. The AI can't actually talk though, they communicate entirely gestures and movement that players eventually learn to recognize after a while playing the game.
Yea. So much has been added since when I last played last April/May. I heard there might be volcanoes, is this true?
Played it when it first came out. Didn't understand anything going on, but there was also this odd character glitch that filled my entire screen.
If anyone in the UK has a guest account, that would be awesome since it won't let me buy it.
I'll be on today, iamacyborg on TS, or contact me here or on Gaming Love.
Played it when it first came out. Didn't understand anything going on, but there was also this odd character glitch that filled my entire screen.
That was a fun glitch. Also, just got an hour and a half of audio recorded with Eskil yesterday, so I'll transcribe that eventually, and release the audio. Lots of interesting stuff was said.
Any plans for a facepunch island or town or something, Wurm style? :v:
Unfortunately, the game doesn't quite work that way.
Curses!
Any plans for a facepunch island or town or something, Wurm style? :v:
Well as iamacyborg mentioned, the game doesn't work that way. Normally there is only one settlement in the server, and while we can have multiple settlements, you don't just go off making your own. Usually the way it works is that every settlement is accessible to everyone. On that note, I probably should mention that a lot of things in the game work this way. When you find a token and bring it back to the settlement, the tool or function it provides becomes available for use by everyone in the settlement. You find a resource and bring it back to the settlement, its so that it's available to everyone in the settlement. If you place an object using a tool from a token, or several of them connected together, or build some kind of structure then it can be used by everyone in the settlement. Unlike other games where the objective is to make yourself more powerful, in Love you make the settlement more powerful. There isn't much in the way of individual character progression in Love. The way you expand your capabilities is to expand those of the settlement and everyone in it. What this means is that you can't really isolate yourself from the other players and what they are doing and expect to get much out of the game. You have to assimilate into the existing community to some degree. On the other hand, this doesn't mean your not free to do what you want. It's because of this that your contributions to the settlement and those of others are much more visible to you and other players. For example, after a while you come know a certain player's style of building and can recognize structures built by them. Also, even though there's no build-in class system in Love some players eventually become known for being good at doing certain tasks well.
Hmm interesting, anyone got a guest/friend account I could try it briefly on? :3:
It's also worth mentioning that there is a tool in game specifically made for griefing, and while it's not working 100% properly yet, it is in game and does allow for a certain element of solo play, and eventually, some form of pvp.
Hmm interesting, anyone got a guest/friend account I could try it briefly on? :3:
Username: gaming Password: gove Might not be on for very long though!

If someone could buy this for me, I can buy them a game on Steam ,equal the cost. Since it won't accept my card. :smith:
I want to try it out but I don't have any idea what it's like and there's no trial, and no one I know has it :\
I want to try it out but I don't have any idea what it's like and there's no trial, and no one I know has it :\
As said before, hop on teamspeak. If you don't have a microphone, that's okay; teamspeak has a text chat system.
If someone could buy this for me, I can buy them a game on Steam ,equal the cost. I can't seem to connect to the teamspeak server.
TeamSpeak is currently down. A player's made an IRC channel in the meantime. http://www.gaminglove.net/forums/general-love-discussion/3232-love-irc-channel.html
Love in Verses now has a backup teamspeak server at loveinvers.es port 9987.
I'm terrible with computers and searching for information for it has been to no avail! Is Love Mac compatible or is there a simple way to run it without the normal Bootcamp etc.? Thanks for the help in advance- Fariun

I'll check and get back to you. Edit: Also, one way to tell would be to go on the love website (link in OP) and download the client (a small download). It will bring you to the login screen when you launch it, assuming Macs are compatible.

Even if you don't have a microphone you can come on TS3 and people will help you out extensively.
Well I finally bought it, disregarding advice to get a free account :V now I've honestly got no idea what's going on
Was there a price reduction or something? I read on (I think) RPS's article that the price was reduced. I think. I can't remember.
Price stayed the same except you get 180 days for the same price.
Is high ping a problem in this game? I live in Australia and I really doubt I'm going to get a good ping on any popular servers. Just wondering if the lag is very noticeable.
There is an AUS server if i'm not mistaken.
There's no AUS server, but there are players from Australia and New Zealand who have been playing on the Alanta 1 server without latency problems so far.
Anyone want a free 30 days as referral? Give me your account name within next 10 minutes!
