Cool site, by the way.
However I found some questions hard to answer, the "how you acted towards another" thing was confusing, so I used the only negative experience I've seen thus far towards me.
I thought it was pretty cool. Felt like I was applying for an actual job, which in some ways I suppose it is.
Many of the Gold Members still continue to make terrible grammar mistakes and shitpost everywhere.
what is wrong with golds making grammar mistakes
On average, how many bans does an moderator have on record before becoming a mod?
I'm most likely not going to apply for this reason alone but I'm curious.
Yeah, my ban history isn't exactly clean...
Okay, I resubmitted contrary to what I said before. I made it short and sweet though, maybe I will still be chosen though. I can only hope.
Never mind, figured it out.
Being a moderator is to much work anyway.
Wait, were we supposed to use a real life event for question 3? :ohdear:
May I request a comprehensive list of responsibilities for a mod?
ban history tainted, again, for the dumbest of reasons.
Saza not happy. No sir.
Wait, were we supposed to use a real life event for question 3? :ohdear:
I did. I think that is what they want at least.
May I request a comprehensive list of responsibilities for a mod?
If you don't know what the job entails, you probably shouldn't apply.
What does the probationary moderator phase mean? I mean, do they give you mod privileges for a week and see how you act, or what?
I see. I thought I saw your Gayneric Monk account get banned as well, I am probably just mistaken.
It did. Got reduced to a month on condition that I stop shitposting. Which I've tried to do.
What does the probationary moderator phase mean? I mean, do they give you mod privileges for a week and see how you act, or what?
Pretty much this. You are made a mod and your decisions, bans etc are scrutinised for a week to see if you do well.
AFAIK anyway, this is what happened in the last election. It's basically to stop being going postal with their privileges, but i think its also used to help train the mod on decisions and bans they should be making etc.
Stupid question, if we screw up in a way that doesn't completely jeopardize the order of the forum, will we be warned and corrected, or do we only have that one chance?

No one is perfect. Not even you.
If they shit post then report them. Hell I see better post out of golds then I see out of blues anyways.
Damnit, why can't I think of anything at all for question three.
I get the feeling submitting the app without it would be a good way to get disqualified, but damn.
I submitted my application. Hope I get selected.

If you're a bad poster before you're a gold then you'll be a bad poster when you become one.
It's not like the transition changes your posts.

So what your saying that that no one can change. Once you messed up that is it. Your automatically suppose to act that way.

He never said that. He said that being gold doesn't automatically change the way you post. You need to actively try to.

I never said anything changes right away. Just that you can change. He is implying that if your a bad poster your will always be a bad poster. No matter the age or maturity.
Usually 2000 posts can change a man.

If you look at the next sentence in that quote, you'll see that he's putting emphasis on the transition changing your posts, not anything else.
Good luck to every applicant.
As a side note I'd like to point out a small bug.
If you select 'yes' as an answer to the first question and then 'no', the text box doesn't disappear. If you, however, select 'yes' once more, it disappears. Does this mean someone can get around this question and not have to provide a link?
Anyway, I have no idea, just wanted to let you know if you aren't aware.

By the way, will we see another Moderator Feedback thread? I don't know how the previous went, but I think it's good now and then.
Also this is probably obvious but no doubt a few dumb people have done it anyway; you should be applying with the account you would be using if you were appointed as a moderator. I.E DumbName would be the account you'd apply with, not DumbNamesAlt21451
Can you apply with a banned account?
Can you apply with a banned account?
Why would you do that?
Because an account from 09 with 80 posts would be mocked as a mod probably, vs. an 07 with over 4,000 posts.
Just checked. You can't. It'll say "Username or Password Incorrect. Or Facepunch is down."
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
