I don't see what the rush is anyway, I'd rather have him take his time to decide which 5 are the best fit for the job.

Why would there need to be a round 2? We're already going to get 5 new mods just for the games sections.

Well when they did Facepunch section they had a round 2.

I'd think of it as: Round 1: Weeding out the idiots (only a day to plow most of it I bet) Round 2: researching a little on people (will take a while) Round 3: Choosing the top 10 candidates (easy for a few of them) Round 4: a vote, potentially between moderators only, to narrow it to the 5 final.

That way people know if they have a chance. Also, I think you should keep the vote to just moderators as people might find some way to spam a person or cheat in some way.

Just be patient and wait. 2: It's not a vote - Hezzy ultimately decides, probably with a little input from the mods. It's not an election. Also, good idea to un-sticky the thread.

Again, it'd end up as a popularity contest. Sorry for the minor bump.

It is a vote by the moderators by quality of posts and threads.

Started doing the applications a couple of hours ago. So far I have read twenty and six of them will be going through to the second stage. Still got another 160 or so to go through!
