Are More Girls Playing Games? - Games

At best, the thing you could go by is the aimed demographic for the games. Girls are more known to go for games aimed at the children - young teenage demographic. Guys go for the games aimed at teens - adults. Yes, there's exceptions in both cases, but that's really the only thing you can go by.

Most of the "gamer" girls I know of just play Rock Band (on easy because they're noobs), Wii games and Kinnect games. My friend's sister has a PS3 that she plays Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed and Ghost Recon on though.

Three of the members in my guild's raid group (World of Warcraft hurrr) are girls and they perform as well as the men and aren't stereotypically "gamer gurl"ish.

I let my 11 year old cousin play Left 4 Dead once. She got to the very end of No Mercy. On expert. On her first try.

My girlfriend likes to play games, though mainly JRPGs, but the occasional action game here or there. A couple of her friends play Call of Duty but mostly the campaign and not too competitive like I do. A lot of girls that I see play games usually don't announce they are females, so you are probably playing with more than you actually think.

I've hung out with a few girls 1 on 1 and played a couple games with them like Portal, Red Dead Redemption and GTAIV.. I remember getting particularly distracted while we played GTAIV though.. The game was just idling for quite some time.

I went to a Diablo II lan once. God that was nerdy as fuck. Was fun though, even if I did have a horrendous cold that day. We got through like..two acts. Probably would have stayed later had I not developed a fever and was about to pass out.

I know like one girl who plays actual video games, and I only know her on the internet. Occasionally I'll hear a chick talking on a mic, but that's usually rare.

Garry's Mod and TF2 are filled to the brim with girls. Even Counter strike. I see a girl in every other server in these games.
