Are More Girls Playing Games? - Games

The only source of actual girl gamers I know is my dad's side of the family, oddly enough. Every family reunion with them is nerd catchup time. It's great.

I pretend to be a guy who's pretending to be a guy, it's funny since the guy who the guy i'm pretending to be is pretending to like men, but in pretending to like men as the guy i'm pretending to be as the guy is pretending to be that i'm pretending to be and pretending to like men people think i'm a guy who's a fag.

There was a study that found that half the PC gamer market was female.

Me and my sister play TF2 together (And sometimes L4D, OC, and other mods). Two years younger than me and she is a Level One admin on the FuG Tom Foolery Server.

Since gaming has drastically increased in popularity over the past decade, I would assume that it is becoming a more accepted pastime in the eyes of females. I remember that in grade school, whenever my various conversations about games were overheard by girls, they would start giggling wildly and say "Like, games are for losers!" In high school they were completely accepting, and would occasionally join our conversations even if they didn't play video games (of course, not all of them - some would just tell us to shut the fuck up unless we wanted to talk about something intelligent).

They're just girls, what the big deal?

I don't mind girls in my games, but unless they have a mic I shouldn't know they're a girl. That includes flirting in chat, pictures of themselves or the thing when someone says "he" and they have to correct you. Also the ubiquitous every person on the server acting like a dickwad until the regular girl comes on and then it's sugar and spice.

Sure some only do it for attention, which us stupid, but some play games because they enjoy it. When playing games I don't care about whether or not they're male or female, to me it's just another player. Makes no difference to me.

I found out that the clan I was in 3 years ago was made up entirely of girls. I was the only person out of 20 or so that was a guy :saddowns:

Met a girl in english class and she is the one that got me into Guild Wars. I just can't talk about it in english without her getting all hyper as fuck.

I've seen plenty of women playing TF2, never seen one that was good though. Best to join the other team.

I'm friends with a female admin on the TF2 server I frequent. It's both funny and sad to see how newbies to the server react around her. You'd swear they've never met a girl before.

I always like to watch how my friends disguise themselves as girls in, say, RP in gmod.
