i read something and found out the good old silent hill 1 is for pc... is this true?
System Shock 2 can be quite scary. Its outdated graphics take away from the overall experience very little, if at all.

No, there is no PC port. There is however, some sort of software to make the game run like it's on PC (it's basically an emulator). Original Clock Tower was ported to Windows 95, so you can try it out on your PC.

This is a must play. It's not as constantly oppressive as Penumbra ('cause, you know, you've got a giant fucking [I]gun[/I]) but the atmosphere is fantastic and the sound design is orgasmic.
It also has a fair share of jump scares, if you're into those. (The second brute encounter had me pause the game and scream "HOLY SHIT AHHHHHHH" for about twenty seconds. :v:)
Yeah, I never found Dead Space scary because of the big guns, armor and the monsters that respond like toothpicks and chewing gum. Don't get me wrong, it was quite entertaining, but monster encounters felt like amusing pest control. Didn't find Bioshock scary either, because again, lots of big guns and the game got very easy very fast.
Many of the scary games for the PC platform have been mentioned. Has Fatal Frame ever made it to the PC, or was that strictly PS2?

Yeah, the game never really nailed the "threatened" feeling a lot of horror games go for. But that's OK, if you ask me. They managed an awesome atmosphere and, again, the sound design was :krad2:
