Last time I checked, tanks aren't made of cardboard and tinfoil.
A leopard crashed into the front of my sturmpanzer II (:byodood:) and we started trading shells at point blank range. Somehow I shrugged off 3 shells to my frontal armor until a hetzer came up and blasted the leopard to death. How the hell does that work? Not that I'm complaining...

It was an arty. It has completely undefended backside. So yeah, it's not tinfoil protecting them. It's air. Against my armored tank. Moving at high speed, against slightly heavier (if that was even so), non-moving target.

If you ram a tank that is moving forwards in its rear, the rammer will get the most damage. People have noticed that.

Oh hell yeah this game is awesome! the first couple games you WILL suck horribly but press the button for in game help to review the controls and you should do fine!
I honestly hope that artillery is a joke and isn't in the final release. They need to just get rid of it and refund people's money and exp who bought them.

They won't. It'll probably be just nerfed.
Artillery doesn't do much damage when you get higher tier tanks. They only own in the recruit games since everyone has crap tanks.

Go look in the official forums. Even the RU beta testers are complaining about it, the higher level arty can one shot KVs/Tigers, etc.

It can't do any of those things. Many tanks can survive even a DIRECT hit, the cost is no pushover (especially shells), accuracy is only there if the target is standing still, and we can only see what tanks in range of our radios can see.
Cost shouldn't effect balance. Just because the shells cost alot doesn't mean it's not overpowered.

No. The accuracy of artillery compared to normal tanks is ridiculous, especially the cooldown of the spread. I'll admit I was wrong about the cost, and it doesn't matter if you can only see what your friendly tanks can see, because your friendly tanks are all over the map in the first place. And I have yet to see a tank survive more than two shots from an SPG, because if it doesn't kill them the first shot, it disables them and leaves them on fire with no way to fight or move.
Artillery still has 3 handicaps, then. I don't see a problem.

Start using an artillery piece and you'll see it's not so easy as you might think.

And you can't say that SPG's don't kill tanks in one shot, they'll kill any tank at THEIR TIER OR LOWER in one or maybe two shots. I'm not saying a Bison can one-shot an IS-7.
Scout I have used an artillery piece. I own a Bison, but I sold it because I felt like an asshole using it.
Wow we were losing this match. we lost 2/3rd of our tanks they had 2/3rd left. I went on a scout mission and our team sniped everyone in their base. woot.

My panzer IIIA took 3 direct shots from arty before dying. Each shot took out one of the tracks. :v:

We did a 3 vs everyone else in starter tanks battle, and later on a "me in a stug vs a lot of starter tanks". Was fun target practise.

Run into the arty. Maybe pop a shot into arty or a anti tank gun.

I found what really works is if you see an arty zig zag towards it, then circle it while shooting. They turn real slow so you would be able to get them easily.
It's going to be a long while before I get any kills in standard.

Each shot took out the same track. I got shot, track repaired, shot again, track repaired, shot [i]again[/i], died.
Being the person alive in a game of medium tanks isn't fun. Especially when you're in a light tank. :suicide:
