Stick with the PzII, go to the PzIII Ausf A, then get the PzIII.

If you're a light tank rush the enemy spot as many as possible, and run back.
Also, save for a premium account.
Survive. Repairs will drain a lot of your credits if you die a lot.
Stick with other tanks, get damages/kills.

And remember to shoot them while you're doing it, damaging artillery nets you good credits. And the higher the difference between your tank tier and his tank tier, the more loot you get when you damage him.

Aw, missed me in the OP....
SPGs and PzIIIs are really getting on my nerves now. Going 66-75 Kph, SPGs are somehow able to miraculously hit my tracks dead on and stop me. And if there's a PzIII he will ALWAYS ram me and knock my tracks out, literally every time. Add me to the list as well OP.

Second or third day of beta I got 1 shot by artillery 5 games in a row going FULL SPEED in my Luchs.
Happened to me too, it's annoying as hell :/
It is amazing to see the overkill of artillery. Especially when two or more fire on the same target, obliterating the target.
I was thinking of saving up the gold to test out one of the gold only heavy tanks. It might be a waste of gold, I am not sure but you never know one you get used to them. Should I go for the Churchill (1500) or for the German heavy tank (1250)? I don't remember its name.
You should save up your gold, then spend it on premium.
I love my Tank Destroyer. Great accuracy, high damage and good damage all whilst hiding in a bush, waiting for someone to light up an enemy :buddy:

Seems that top tier tanks aren't viable for normal battles, as they do not cover their own costs.
Yup, they require premium to maintain or farming on 5 other tanks. Took that straight from one of the moderators.
Also just sold my second tank that I didn't decrew, had 50% Marder II crew I could transfer to my Hetzer but I was in a rush to get in the next game and forgot all about it.

You don't even have to be active, so long as your account exists during the closed beta it will rack up 150 gold per day at midnight GMT, (8 PM EST).
