Besides, blizz is making tons of money on it, and it's a business not a charity. So get real. It's never gonna be free, and I say thank god for that.
If blizzard does ever decide to shut down WoW, I hope they release a content patch that's basically the end of the world.
I don't think they would patch it as much if it was free, and the game would probably be less fun.

If they do make World of warcraft free, not only the graphics will go down, just the general quality of game will. They will start to disregard WoW because it will not be turning a profit for the company, more plainly saying, if WoW does become free, it will go to shit... real fast.
They could probably run this game with commercials ingame, such as items called coca cola/pepsi which frankly wouldn't drain on the quality that much, but if they put in billboards and shit.. well yeah, then the quality lowers

WoW becoming F2P = Time to find a new MMO.
It would cost them [i]so much[/i] money to keep it running. And Blizzard is swimming in their own money ocean from WoW. No way they'd throw all that away any time soon.
They might do that once WoW is not nearly as popular anymore.
