bmp, why the fuck
Seems like this calle has no idea what F2 does.
Also, about the whole numbers in the name thing, why the fuck do people do that? It's a little off topic but I see people everywhere with a billion numbers at the end of their name. Why?
Just a quick bit of info... a new mob was added in the src. Giants are an experimental mob that aren't found in game yet, but with a few tweaks it can be done

Haven't giants been in the src since survival test.

They've been in for ages.
yea, but was just scheming with the lightning, would be doable in multiplayer to spawn them...

bukkit plugin idea... time to start coding it
Anyone else thing that lightning should be attracted to iron blocks?

Get Bukkit Essentials plugin - /spawnmob giant
Enjoy your giants.
Anyone else thing that lightning should be attracted to iron blocks?
Yes. Then I wanna be able to make a mass conductor where I lure creepers into the reactor so I can super charge them and lure them to my enemies.
Electrocuted creepers. Oh god.
Electrocuted zombies should turn into Frankenstein's monster you pedantic twat, with the only difference being that they run from fire.
extremely important feature notch just write the check out to cash
All creepers that spawn during a thunderstorm should be Supercharged Creepers. I want the game to be more dangerous dammit.
I never feel threatened in Minecraft anymore.
Supercharged Creepers are such a cool feature that so few people will actually see.

can only hack them in, ID is 30
Maybe they'll be added next update, like maps.

I like the shift click feature in chests, it makes it easier to store stuff quickly
The weather is definitely a start. I was awed when I saw lightning for the first time.
But I'm hoping that Minecraft will eventually have more dynamic weather, which makes it ultimately more common than the current version and not too common that it gets old.
Lets assume we're in a MineCraft biome which (in real life) rains occasionally, in this example, plains (or grasslands).
I live in a "grasslands" plains (in real life) so off the top of my head I would say it rains roughly every 2 weeks or so.
The time that we have rainy weather ranges from 1 day to 5 days, usually. This includes any delays between rain where it is still cloudy.
So the amount of time it rains is roughly 1/14-5/14th of the time, averaged to maybe 3 days for every 2 weeks (3/14).
3 / 14 = 0.2142...
So, with a rough estimate, I would say that if it rains 20% (1/5th) of the time in a grassy plains, the amount of rainfall would be satisfactory. It would give the game a sort of "realistic" feel. This is of course is the plains biome only, in a rainforest biome there would be much more rain, and in the desert there would be practically none (though I would enjoy to see an oasis on occasion).
Notch could even go further to make weather even more dynamic (which I'm fairly sure the Mojang crew will be improving this further) which has flowing weather based on wind, varied rainfall (not just raining or not), melting snow / draining water, and of course rainfall that is dependent on the biome it's in (since biomes are formed based on a "rainfall" variable, I believe this would be very easy.)
But that's my two cents.
bmp, why the fuck
Because it loads from the bottom.
~diversity~

Mad Science in Minecraft.
I usually hate ideas like this and shit but this one really hits home for some reason.
Seems Optifog is going to be pretty much perfect on its 1.5 release, with all those fps improving features that notch will probably steal, i can't wait.
Was away for a couple of days, but weren't we promised pistons in this update?
[editline]21st April 2011[/editline]
Also we need lightning conductors, lure a creeper into a minecart, place the minecart under a lightning conductor, launch cart at your enemies.
Was away for a couple of days, but weren't we promised pistons in this update?
Jens/Notch said they would include it, but not in 1.5.
I seem to be the only one that who hasn't seen any performance increase... it's still pretty bad for me :/
I was fine before, but my fps hasn't changed at all.
I seem to be the only one that who hasn't seen any performance increase... it's still pretty bad for me :/
My FPS has gone up, until I decide to walk around to a new area. Then chunk generation and loading gets insanely slow, and the game becomes unplayable.
To be honest that might be the issue for me as well. Chunk generation is SO slow...
Each time these updates come out, I play for a few hours and all goes well.
Right as I get set-up, though, the game brutally does nothing other than try to remind me why I quit. Today, I had good luck at first, a pack of wolves under my command and a beautiful start.
Then all this happened.
- Creeper spawned right under a tree behind me during the day hours. Killed me and one of my three dogs.
- Found an empty cave passage with some diamond at the end, on the return trip, which was only a ten to twenty meters, the game proceeded to spawn three skeletons and four creepers in my path, all in very close proximity.
- Settling on the overworld for a bit, I was rearranging my tiny cave-shack (5 x 6 x 3) that was fully lit (8 torches) during the fucking day. Both entrances were sealed, and as I was crafting some bread, a creeper spawned literally a foot away and took out half of my house/shack.
I quit, once again, after the last event. Playing on Peaceful feels so boring to me, but when I put it on Easy or Normal, the game goes no-bars full-on aggressive and sees just how much shit it can pull before I quit. That, or I'm just really unlucky. :v:
You must be extremely unlucky. I have my difficulty on hard, AT ALL TIMES, and events like this have never happened.

You also realize that Frankenstein has been publicly recognized as the monster, right? If you understand the person and what they mean, why do you have to correct them, he wasn't being stupid when he said Frankenstein, he just used the more publicly accepted term.
Oh and you spelled Frankenstein wrong.
The rain adds some atmosphere to minecraft.
Am I the only one that crashes A LOT after this update? It's like, sometimes it blackscreens after 5 minutes...
I love that gold now has uses.
It would be nice if mojang treated Minecraft as an actual beta and fix bugs instead of adding more features.
It would be nice if mojang treated Minecraft as an actual beta and fix bugs instead of adding more features.
Here we go with that argument, they have said they want to add features and fix bugs at the same time, if I recall, he said it is divided by time on which he will work on. And I don't believe Notch exactly follows that old stereotype of "Beta = Bug fixes" anyway. Why are you even complaining about him adding things, I haven't noticed any game-breaking bugs yet.
Is anyone else having problems with monsters spawning in very well lit areas?
I have a castle that is perfectly well lit and has never had a monster spawn inside it, but now when it rains the monsters can spawn inside my castle NO PROBLEM. What the fuck man
