I don't think Blizzard is nearly as bad as people think. The price for WoW is the same for every other MMORPG. Plus WoW only makes you pay for expansions, which is like another game entirely, so that's fair. They release a lot of content all the time without any charge, except for the monthly charge. Plus you are paying for their service as well. Someone stole something from me in WoW, so I opened up an in-game ticket. It took them a few days for them to get to it, but after that I didn't see the guy on for a week. There is a lot of content that is reused in expansions though, like models and such. But compare WoW's expansions to CoD's series. What the fuck was the difference between MW, WaW, and MW2? Tl;Dr: Blizzard is expensive but you get what you pay for, Activision is just as expensive without content or service.

Second, we're allowed to bash MW2 if it has legitimate problems, which it does. I could list them, but you've heard them all before. I know that it's a company, but being a dick is being a dick. He has all the money he needs from WoW, and it isn't like he's using it to develop a better game or charity. Unlike Valve, who gives out huge sales on all of their games, as well as being able to atone for their mistakes.

I have to disagree on the Guitar Hero part though. They're starting to put some effort on the games now and it's not like they force you to buy the new controller. I have a GH2 controller I bought for 30$ on newegg and the new games essentially bring new songs/improvements. I used to think "GH is dumb, it's just plastic toys". Sure it is, and some people take it too seriously, but I don't and I enjoy the game and playing rock band with some friends is fun.

However, the difference between him and Valve, is that Valve is not a heartless bastard, and an impersonal company. I would go on to say that Valve makes quality games, but that's a matter of opinion. I did not enjoy MW2 multiplayer. Do you want to know why? Because I'm not Activisions target audience. He's greedy as fuck. But hey! His game got a lot of high rates and positive reviews. MW2 is called "game of the millenium", "best fps shooter", it won a lot of awards and people like this game. They also enjoyed these paid DLCs. He wants money. A lot of it. Just like every other dev on this goddamn world.

The one thing that grinds my gears though is that people will play wow for 4 hours and called nerds when the same people play cod for 4 hours and aren't called nerds for it, they're considered normal. Also, for reference, my friend plays wow for 20 hours a week. One of my other friends plays cod for 50 hours a week, and the one who plays wow is considered the nonsocial nerd gamer.

I bought it, because i figured that most of the complaints on forums were exaggerations, and because the game got good reviews overall. It turned out that the matchmaking system did, indeed suck. It did nothing they promised it would, with laggy games, and more hackers than I have ever encountered in any other cod game. Bobby Kotick, being the man he is, is indeed good at minimizing losses and maximizing profits, you have that right. However, in the process of doing that he is an asshole. Plain and simple. Just look up some of the things he's said. And you are correct in saying that it matters not whether or not he is an asshole, as long as he's making money. However, I would much rather buy games from developers who are actually interested in improving gameplay experience, like valve, rather than those who are simply interested in making as much money as quickly as possible. Will I buy games from them in the future? Probably titles like starcraft 2 and diablo 3 because they are made by blizzard and likely will not suck. However i have no interest in purchasing another call of duty game after my experience with modern warfare 2, nor any other game published by or affiliated with activision besides the two stated above and possibly other blizzard games. Wii didn't work that well, but it featured a lot of things for casuals and youngies. The problem with laggy games is actually pretty annoying, but most of the times ping is acceptable. Actually, I encountered bad hosts 5, 6 times. Host migration always did its job, and for the rest of the game I had 3, 4 bars. Huge problem with hackers, I fully agree. Sadly, it's VAC to blame. IT permanently bans, but it takes weeks to ban that goddamn hacker. PB, even if it KICKED innocent players, was better for MW2. Right now, Activision used another amazing tactic. They made "hardcore" players like you, like me very mad about Activision and Infinity ward. Now they took Treyarch and promised Zombie mode and dedis. They are going to get your money again, even if you hated Activision/IW/MW2. And this is goddamn clever.
