I might be able to help you out with the sounds. Dunno if you already got em planned
I don't have a clue how I'm gonna do sounds. There are a lot, I suppose. I haven't actually looked at the folder yet.
Getting music is easier. I grabbed SPC's (think SNES midi) and converted them to wav. Luckily, non-SNES tracks were already on my computer. I opened them all up in Audacity matched them them to the originals, adding loops and fades.
If you've got a plan or website or some SNES audio ripping tool, let me know. We'll share the work and the credit.
How did you play over the internet?
He brought over his keyboard (nobody had a gamepad) and plugged it in. He played using his keyboard and I played using mine.
That reminds me, has anyone gotten a gamepad to work? Or a program that reads input from 2 keyboards but assigns the second keyboard's strokes to a different key than what was pressed? (That way, two people could have the same controls (but on different devices) and still play without key conflicts)
Making a music pack.
So far I've added stuff from Viewtiful Joe. Oh, and I'm making it so it loops well.

Adding Mystical Ninja now.

Dai and I used XBox 360 controllers. They worked pretty well.
Most of of the time I want to use a controller on a game that doesn't really support it, I just use XPadder.

Don't forget the countless times you'd float over me and stunt my jump JUST enough to make me fall. :argh:
:v:
This game, with a friend, made me laugh so much. Like crying blood laughter.
Are there any level packs that are similar in difficulty to Super Mario World or Super Mario Bros. 3? And without the weird Super Mario Bros. 2 enemies.

urgh, super mario bros. 2 was my least favorite mario game of all time. It's not even really a mario game, it's just a total conversion of some other game that was never released outside of japan. I raged when I say that they included levels like that in this game.
Is this only local 2 player?
Anyways, been playing singleplayer and it's really great so far.
I'm not a big fan of the Mario 2 levels where you have to pickup enemies and crap. They destroy the flow Imo.

Holy shit, I am so glad I installed this game.
The YouTube video was removed :saddowns:

Read the editor's help file.
SMBX got taken off the site. Why?
What music do you guys want for this game? I'm working on my music pack.

Probably something stupid like copyright infringement. I'm reuploading it as [del]we speak[/del] I write this post.

Doubt it's copyright infringement. The author kept saying its "Dead forever" and similar shit so i guess he just decided to remove it so no one would bring it back up at all. Without even releasing the source code.

sounds like a drama queen, and given he was pissy when people tried asking about or suggesting features, he's just throwing a tantrum. Demand will probably bring it back out of the woodworks from him.
Glad I downloaded it before he took it off the site.
Guy sounds like a real douche, honestly.

Yeah there's a ton of other games on that site, they'd all be taken down if that were the case.
Just a thing I've found weird : In unofficial forums, one of people asked why are links removed. And two people are saying that there's a reason this is happening. So either there's a major build-up going on, or the guys are just being trolls.

could be a potential update (somehow?), or more likely he's gonna start charging for it because it's really successful. Charging would bring up copyright issues though, since he's profiting from Nintendo's intellectual property

Could you post a link to the forum?

Here's a download for it if you need it.

Hopefully its an update. But we'll see what it is, sometime.
I wish this game actually worked for me. Pressing Start Game in the preliminary window just closes that window. The process is still running in the background chugging CPU, but no game or window appears. It's written in VB6 so it was bound to have some quirks to it...
