Why did they remove the option to change your name in CSS

I am working on a solution about this :

A program that let you choose your name for every game that use this feature.
Then when you start playing a game, it change your name to what you have set.

Use the name command, just type name "your name here" but without the quote marks. I'm pretty sure it works.

It was possible to use it have names that would be difficult to ban unless you used a admin plugin on a server
