No if you dig a hole they wont just appear, but sooner or later you will dig far enough or in the right direction and hit them someway. It is only a matter of time, just play on peaceful and carry a sword, they are no match for you.

I sure as hell wouldn't want my baby slime running off to get blown up by a creeper.
Maybe the slimes get duller and darker in colour as they get hungry. Putting them in a storage space puts them in stasis but they'll eat up dropped food items. Alternatively if they're hungry and no dropped food is nearby they'll attack pigs for the bacon.

Hope you guys like it, it's not amazingly colour coordinated or perfect but i like building into the environment and not terraforming too harshly, the outside of the mountain is the same apart from my walkway. I like it. Love this game.

In my latest cave adventures, I saw a 4x4x4 slime jumping around in the darkness. I fought it off, and kept searching for ores. When I was mining some redstone, I felt something that pushed me back and forth. Turning around, I saw a mini slime, poking me and hopping around. I had a pet.
We kept mining, then it happened: The damn slime jumped in front of my pickaxe and got smeared all over the coal I was mining.
A tear was shed.
