why does nobody seem to realize that IT'S NOT DONE YET.
It's not like Notch has the server software sitting right next to his mincraft.jar and he's like "well I [I]could[/I] release it but I think I'll just give away the password to a closed beta instead", he hasn't finished MAKING the server software yet, which is why he's the only one running it.
Also, Gregah, sheep and other animals spawn in the maze, making it possible to use wool to get to the end. make the walls a few blocks higher. (That's not how I won) :v:

Wouldn't it be easier to just replace all grass tiles with something else, and block the end of the maze with a one block high wall?

That would take longer, he'd have to remove the current grass floor then replace it.
