You can still sort of see it in the bottom left. At this point the game is telling me it's running at 1 fps, and it's basically right. The screen jitters as I walk around.

This screenshot is sort of normal if you cover up the bottom half with your hand or something.
It's almost as if the green goop these infernal cubes drop [i]fuels their rage towards me[/i].

Wish I had known milk was useless before I filled all my buckets with it. That'll learn me.

I don't think there's a way right now, no, as the fog also determines how close chunks are to you before they're rendered, and messing with that would probably wreck something chunk-loading-wise.

I was in a cavern that I can only describe as an amphitheatre - it was a large, round room with sloped sides and a domed roof. A pillar in the centre provided a nice place to fix a torch, although most of the room was lit by a stream of magma running across the left side of the room. Four tunnels entered the amphitheatre, all of their exits raised above the level of the floor of the round room, and impossible to climb into without mining some kind of stairwell out. The passage I had entered through was directly above me; I had fallen a good 10 metres on my way in.
Upon entry to the cavern, I was greeted with 2 small blobs of goo, which quickly dispatched themselves in the magma stream. However these were not the only malevolent viscous fluids present. To my horror, the four dark passages harboured larger slime creatures, most measuring just over a metre across, and others reaching a huge four metres width. At least 10 large cubes poured into the room, accompanied by 15, maybe 20 smaller ones.
As I attempted to destroy them they divided into more.
The passages could not be sealed.
I survived around 30 seconds.
