Games aren't meant to be based around their graphics. You see Dwarf Fortress, that game doesn't even have graphics and it's incredibly popular. It's gameplay that matters, and Minecraft thrives in originality and fun gameplay. The game has what feels like infinite replay-ability, and it's quite cheap for what it is aswell.
