I struggle to place doors. What are the "requirements" for placing doors?

There really aren't any requirements
2 spaces high 1 space wide.
Some of you have to go on or at least have been on Second Life at some point. I do, but don't be hating me for it.
What i've been working on since yesterday is a 'Minecraft Ultimate Box' for Second life. It will consist of every block, every mob and every entity (torches etc).
So far I have all the following done:

Every one is exact to it's proper ratio and with a grid size of 0.750 for easy snap-creations such as:

Bare basics at the moment, still working on it. Just thought I'd share.
Are all the players actually able to place the blocks?

Yes...
I was thinking of making something like an adventure game, where you have to solve puzzles and stuff to progress in a maze. Both with interacting with the physics/doors and by solving riddles.
Edit : I just need to harvest the lands of this save now so that I can start building it all :buddy: But first, I need to find the spawn point.
So i farmed a bunch of clay and crafted them into big blue blocks, now how do i go from the big blocks to bricks?

Put them into a furnace, then with the bricks, fill a 2x2 grid up to get a brick wall block.

Erm, did Notch update again? Because to make brick walls, I only had to put the clay directly into a furnace and use the bricks in a 2x2 grid to make brick walls.
Oh wait, you edited for it to say 2x2, but you originally said 3x3.

Yeah, I forgot, lilcheeselad reminded me, I got it mixed with other ores :v:
I hope Notch makes clay more common, I have a 7 MB map and there are only 300 clay blocks total. Not really possible to make any kind of big brick structure.
Wow, I really want to make stuff with bricks, but my file is fucked up for some reason. People are having the same issue, it's frozen upon loading the map. Waiting for Notch to fix the problem...

It's easier to use gravel/sand and more dangerous too though, because it can fall on them and trap them, and they can suffocate. Maybe make a layer of normal wall, 2 of sand, 2 of cobblestone, then another interior normal wall..
While playing Ratchet and Clank yesterday (the second one), I remembered a certain monster from the third game. The monster's name? A slime. It starts out as one big monster, that when killed, becomes 4 slightly smaller monsters, that when killed, becomes 4 practically harmless tiny monsters. They could climb up walls, bounce around, and only appeared underground.
Sound familiar?
I don't know. Is Notch a fan of Ratchet and Clank and decided to put a monster from it into Minecraft, or is it just a coincidence? :psyduck:
