lava, make sure to find diamond in that cave so they'll stop spawning.

If you are in a wide tunnel, maybe 3x3 or 4x4, place dirt blocks in the middle so they can't approach anymore. Stay back, slowly come closer til they are in range of your sword. I find that they have a rediculously long range so be careful. :biggrin:
Also, take lots of food, supplies and stuff with you.

So I decided I would make a world where I dont use any programs to edit the map or my inventory, quite fun since I'm used to infinate TNT, food and weapon.
Within two hours, I've found every block available in /game/ on my new save.
Definitely a keeper.

InvEdit is for editing your inventory, the reason its good is becuase it uses pictures insted of item IDs and looks pretty sexy.

There were no caves anywhere near my base on my new map so I had to cartograph the nearest ones because it was really [I]really[/I] boring. :saddowns:

You get it from the minecraft forums, theres a download link in the main thread. There is another program called MineEdit which is made by the same guy, but it edits the players attributes and the environment, like options to replace blocks with another
I think when notch adds magic we should get a dousing rod thingy that vaguely tells us how many caves are underneath of where you are.

Or maybe even a sort of "Ore detector" where you need to get a sample of what you want it to detect (diamond for example) and it would act like a metal detector maybe beeping when close to diamond.

Make sure your spawners have a 3 space around them at all times and make sure to remove all grass where you don't want pigs spawning near the spawner as pigs only spawn on grass now.

i managed to remove 13 diamond out of that cave, a lot less slimes are spawning now but i see a mosh pit of slimes in the distance i i think i can pull some more diamond out

Or you could make that into a wand of sorts.
