Bah, I got the point across.
Are cartridges considered the same thing as casings? Or am I messing up my definitions.
Are cartridges considered the same thing as casings? Or am I messing up my definitions.
The cartridge is the entire round. The casing is just the brass tube that holds the bullet, primer, and powder.
Army of Two 40th Day has the most unrealistic weapons in it. You can make guns that deify logic. I can't really say what has the MOST realistic guns in it though.
Battlefield 2 has realistic looking weapons.
Developers flip the ejction ports because it's cooler to watch the spent cartridges spurt out whilst firing. No other reason.
This. What would you rather see?
The cartridge is the entire round. The casing is just the brass tube that holds the bullet, primer, and powder.
So the casings would be what comes out, not cartridges. Right?
So the casings would be what comes out, not cartridges. Right?
Depends on the weapon, a belt-fed gun would expel both the casing and the links holding the rounds together.
This. What would you rather see?
I'd rather see guns correctly portrayed in my games, not brass flying in my face.
you are all missing the fact that then NEVER give video games guns proper firing range! in the real world a M4 has an effective rage of 500m. the marks on the sights are there to assist firing at these ranges. and shotgun rounds don't disappear after 7 feet

Didn't they let you take an AK receiver, smack an M4 barrel on it, G36 magazine, G3 grip, M4 polymer handguard, and G36 folding stock, and call it a day?
No. They're not modeled realistically. Call of Duty probably has the most realistic weapon models
ARE YU SHITTIN ME SON? lol COD has some of the most unrealistic weapons out there, shit like firing a .50 ae pistol incredibly fast, SURVIVING a hit from a .50 BMG round from a barret, then recovering 5 seconds later, the knife effectiveness, recoil, the fact bullets defy gravity, nothing about CoD is realistic, but it is fun...
I'd rather see guns correctly portrayed in my games, not brass flying in my face.
ha, flip the model then
No game as of yet has allowed the player to adjust their sights, but I can name a few games that incorporate bullet drop, so it's not completely ignored.
the closest i've seen is operation flashpoint: dragon rising
ha, flip the model then
or, devs can just portray weapons accurately.
*imagines firing a left-handed bullpup rifle right-handed*
or, devs can just portray weapons accurately.
the masses want to see shells in their face, sooooo
The masses probably don't even know what the shells are.
the masses want to see shells in their face, sooooo
The masses want MW2 which ironically does case ejection properly.
Arma 2 is probably as close as you're going to get, as far as retail games go, Other than that you're looking at Mods like Red Orchestra to get your Realistic Modeling fix
It's even ironic that they portrayed the holding of the weapon wrong in world view
The CoD weapons used to be accurately portrayed. Correct sights and all.
Are you kidding? Their older weapons were horribly done. For example, they had the player hold a Sten gun on it's magazine, which is infamous for jamming for using that same posture. They also made the Garand impossible to manually reload in all of their games besides WaW.
any else laugh whenever a suppressor is used? real suppressors are actually really loud [editline]05:14PM[/editline] i should know i've used one :v:

So is with RO's tank sights elevation. But they're stupid quiet.
Sub Sonic rounds, but video games take it too far
7.62 with silencer: pip
Plasma rifles................
I hate that now in war games, every gun has atleast 50 additions, to make it look "TactiCool", which is bullshit. All you need is a fucking sight or a scope.
My DAD said the the AK-47 in S.T.A.L.K.E.R is innacurate and that the models sucks. And yes my dad plays video games :v:
