My DAD said the the AK-47 in S.T.A.L.K.E.R is innacurate and that the models sucks.
And yes my dad plays video games :v:
There is no AK-47 in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Mah bad its ak-74
There is no AK-47 in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Yes there is. But only one. In CoP I think, eiter that or CS.
Regardless, he was probably referring to the AK-74.
[editline]02:46AM[/editline]
Yup.
As if we don't see enough of it. I think it's just hilarious that MW2 strapped rails to fucking everything, didn't even spare the deagle. I'm surprised the 1887 didn't get rails.
If you want realistic look weapons go play that america's army game or whatver it's called.

If you mind waiting 30 minutes after each death, can deal with the hassle of punkbuster, possibly spending a couple hours to complete the "training," and can actually get in a server to play if their shitty server and connection problems don't get to you, then it's surely the game for you!
Are you kidding? Their older weapons were horribly done. For example, they had the player hold a Sten gun on it's magazine, which is infamous for jamming for using that same posture. you can't manually reload a garand until the bloc is ejected
[editline]06:28AM[/editline]
well, it would be stupid to manually place more rounds into the bloc clip to be fed to the magazine
[editline]06:28AM[/editline]
and it was probably more or less a balance/gameplay choice
[editline]06:28AM[/editline]
and what the fuck is up with all of the animated ass/tits avatars?

Well its just cool to hear the metallic CLACK of the ejection after your clip is spent, and is more for realism.
And as for those animated tits/ass avatars?
LEAVE THEM BE.
Are you kidding? Their older weapons were horribly done. It also tended to discharge when dropped, or even randomly for no reason.
They also made the Garand impossible to manually reload in all of their games besides WaW.
The M1 Garand is difficult to reload unless emptied, you might as well just shoot off the extra couple of rounds into the ground and reload it then.

The Garand and Sten were fucked up a bit, but the rest were fine.
The M1 Garand is a lot easier to manually reload than you kiddos seem to think.

Dumbasses. It's as easy as pushing a button.
you are all missing the fact that then never give video games guns proper firing range!
In the real world a m4 has an effective rage of 500m. The marks on the sights are there to assist firing at these ranges.
And shotgun rounds don't disappear after 7 feet

no game as of yet has allowed the player to adjust their sights, but i can name a few games that incorporate bullet drop, so it's not completely ignored.
arma 2
ALL of Bad Company 2's models look too fat.
No. They're not modeled realistically. Call of Duty probably has the most realistic weapon models, although they're still very inaccurate. Valve's weapon models are simpler because they don't look very TaCtic00l, they're just the base gun, no rails or attachments.
That was hilarious.

Um... mate I know the MW2 weapon models are terrible but you do realise it is possible to replace the sights on the standard M4s and replace the handguard with numerous different rail systems?

Uh, you know just because it doesn't look like a standard stock M4 doesn't mean it's unrealistic. But yeah, RAILS. RAILS EVERYWHERE.
And thermal scopes can be attached to everything, yay, thermal G18's!
My only problem with ARMA 2's weapons is that all the weapons have the same animations. Every reload is the same, whether for shotguns or for rifles, and there's no animation for bolt action guns. You just get a big fire cap.
I agree with you there. God-knows why they didn't bother with reload animations (well, one reason would be because there are shit ton of weapons in the game and they are lazy and have no money).
The game would be so much more immersing with proper reload animations and it's obvious they'd be able to do it - the movement animations in that game are pretty much the best I have ever seen.
I don't think many people in this thread realize that games aren't supposed to be accurate weapon simulations, they're supposed to be entertaining. The game designer know their weapons aren't realistic, and they don't care.
They aren't really amazingly realistic, but their loosely modeled in most cases.
ah, people sperging over weapons inaccuracies in games. The reason they have rails on the guns in MW2 is because of the RPG aspect that allows you to add sights and grips. devs take making the game exciting as the first and foremost duty, if they have to sacrifice realism for that, it's only logical. on the topic of suppressors being quiet, of course they fucking are! If you were in a stealth section and they completely ruined any chance of you being stealthy, that would be total bullshit and people would rate it poorly.
Far cry 2 has some pretty real guns.

ak-47's don't jam frequently in real life
The masses want MW2 which ironically does case ejection properly.
Except the F2000.
The casings eject out the right side inside of the front end of the gun.

Days don't pass in minutes either.
