I don't see why they didn't just put all of Wolfenstein 3D or DOOM in the rooms. The whole games. They fit on a floppy disk, for god's sake.

If you're setting auto HQ renderpath the cachemeg functions are not called, and aren't needed.
visdist can also be upped to 1.2 max.

i personally think this game was rushed to be released now because they didn't want it to interfere with the skyrim launch.

I just remembered, that's not the only Doom easter egg I believe. Todd Hollenshead said in an interview that if you let the rocket launcher idle for long enough, you get a Doom easter egg.

I get the feeling, from watching the videos and reading people's impressions, that Carmack has simply changed from the leader of PC gaming graphic technology to the leader in CONSOLE gaming graphics technology(specifically Xbox 360).
It seems that for a 360 shooter, this is indeed cutting edge graphics in a game. It only seems to be PC gamers say 'wtf?'.

Wrong. John Carmack said a while back that he deeply regretted making RAGE console-oriented.

uhm he's just one guy. he hasn't been the leader in graphics technology ever since graphics technology in games became a multi-team R&D pursuit.
he did however invent a lot of the things that games use today.

@Dorak Im pretty sure that was on the last page or two(might have been reddit I saw it posted) but it was also confirmed those textures are from a mod, not default.
When this game gets boring I know I'll just try ragdoll launching off the ATV for distance.
