I just wish it was a small glitching thinking everyone was running on really low end systems so we just type in our memory/vram/GPu info and it would max it up to that point. But it seems to be going way to easy on some systems. For me using 1/6th the GPU power I have.
I hope some other studios makes better use of of idTech5 features.
I'm getting texture seams all over the terrain which cause blue and black artifacts to appear on my GTX460 anyone else having this problem?

I am currently in [sp]The Well, fighting some bandits not to poison the water of Goodwill[/sp]. For some reason I cannot finish this level due to the enemies being invincible. No matter what I do, beginning from shooting to blowing them up, they just do not want to die, at all. Anyone else has this problem?
I'm getting texture seams all over the terrain which cause blue and black artifacts to appear on my GTX460 anyone else having this problem?
I had that when I messed with my config. Turn off and on some options and check if it changes.

I think most people are pretty happy with how the characters look. We're mainly discussing the issues of the environment textures.
Well I know what I'm waiting for to hit the $10 bargain bin.
I think most people are pretty happy with how the characters look. We're mainly discussing the issues of the environment textures.
I think he was saying that they look like the same person. (They don't to me, other than being fat)
Well i got my game running flawless maxed out. Just make a shortcut to the rage.exe and add this after the quotations in target +cvaradd g_fov 12 +com_allowconsole 1 +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +image_anisotropy 16 +image_usecompression 0 +g_showplayershadow 1 +m_smooth 0 then go to your main rage directory and into the base sub folder then make a cfg file. You can do this by copying another and then opening a blank text file and drag it in on there then add
seta image_usecompression "0" seta image_anisotropy "16" seta vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly2 "8192" seta vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly "8192" seta vt_pageimagesizeunique "8192" seta vt_pageimagesizevmtr "8192" seta vt_maxppf "24" seta vt_maxlockedpages "256" seta vt_minlod "-2" seta vt_lodBias "-2" seta vt_maxaniso "4" seta vt_qualityhdplossless "1" seta vt_qualityhdppower "0" seta vt_qualityhdpspecular "0" seta vt_qualityhdpnormal "0" seta vt_qualityhdpdiffuse "0" seta vt_qualitydctpower "100" seta vt_qualitydctspecular "100" seta vt_qualitydctnormal "100" seta vt_qualitydctchroma "100" seta vt_qualitydctluma "100" seta vt_restart
to your new empty cfg file and name it rageconfig and should be a cfg file. Then go to C:\Users\computer-name\AppData\Local and create a folder called "id software" and inside that folder make a folder called "rage" then just launch the game using your new shortcut and max everything out and enable gpu transcode and away you go. I have a Core-I7 965 Extreme and a GTX 570 and it's capping frames.
I think the main reason why a lot of people have been complaining about this game so far is the graphics, which actually don't look all that bad as long as you're not staring at the ground or other stuff besides the characters. The gameplay is extremely fun yet people also seem to bitch about that as well, I don't get it.
Almost all the issues with RAGE are hardware/driver related and not an issue with the game itself. Please note the following from Bethesda: ATI and NVIDIA are working on updated drivers that should be released today/tomorrow that will fix multiple issues. Bethesda is working on an update to allow for users to customize their video options which will solve many of the issues users are having. For the latest information please visit http://www.bethblog.com Thank you for your patience with this matter. All parties are working as fast as they can to correct the problems with RAGE.
They're working out on getting a patch out.
What is with you people complaining about the graphics being bad? This has to be one of the best-looking games I've ever played. It has quite a few low-resolution textures, but it's filled to the brim with small details that really make the game look incredible.
Anyone getting flickering NPC's? .... and now textures, guns etc...
They're working out on getting a patch out.
If this patch fixes the shit textures I'm buying this game :D
So... What's the verdict on this game? Good? Not good? Worth buying? If so should I get it on PC or console?

But in the end so far what we see looks fairly standard.
It's solid. It's hella short, and env texs look like ass. The weapons are fun and there's lots to do, and the enemy AI+animations is fucking brilliant on the max difficulty.
The only thing that I wish they is more sniper rifle ammo since there's only one type of ammo for it.
Anyone getting flickering NPC's?
Yeah I get it from time to time, It's very noticable when a NPC you're talking to is dissapearing every second. Was doing som Mutant TV shit for a sponsor and died at the "boss" and now I have to redo the whole thing? Fuck that shit, Loving the assault rifle.
I'm getting texture seams all over the terrain which cause blue and black artifacts to appear on my GTX460 anyone else having this problem?
I'm using the same card (overclocked too so a higher chance of errors) but I haven't noticed anything like that.
Maximum quality config: [requires 3 gigs of Vram and 12 Gigs of ram]
Slightly tweaked it to my specs (i7 930 @ 4.2GHz w/ HT, 2x GTX580 1.5GB's in SLI, 12GB Corsair Dominator RAM) and I get 0.8 fps because of the "16384" commands, as well as erratic CPU and GPU usage. Reducing those to "8192" brings me back to 60 fps and consistent usage.
Does the setting have to be a multiple of 4096? Cause I have a 2GB graphics card and only 8GB of RAM so I couldn't run that setting but I should be able to easily run higher than 8192.
