Well out of all these errors it looks like I made the right choice to wait to purchase this game...I'll wait till Christmas to see if there is a sale or something. Either way I'm going to get it!
Something about those settings is making the seams between sections of the megatexture really stand out for me for some reason.
ppf and paging shouldn't be used on AMD cards.

Some are protected, and some are legacy. Unless they've got some super bizarre rimlighting thing going on, the chars are properly supported, not that it makes much difference. Enable selfshadowing, get under a light source and then adjust the shadow config.
This is my current config and I'm still getting the issue.
ppf and paging shouldn't be used on AMD cards.
I'm using a 2GB nVidia GeForce GTX460. Screenshot of my problem. It's a tiny bit hard to see in that pic but it was the quickest place that I could get a decent screenshot of it. If I open it, it won't let me interact with it and it won't let me close it.
Game ran 100% perfect after I turned on Vsync to stop the screen tearing. Rage is fantastic, the guns feel very good, the animations and voice acting is near flawless, and overall it runs pretty smooth.

What do you use for comments in the config? I know sometimes it's ; in things like this and other times // but I haven't commented anything on this yet.
What do you use for comments in the config? I know sometimes it's ; in things like this and other times // but I haven't commented anything on this yet.
Pretty sure it's //
What the hell, this is odd. With just these enabled:
seta com_allowconsole "1" //Allows use of the console seta com_maxfps "65" //Set max framerate seta com_skipIntroVideo "1" //Skips the intro video seta com_videoram "2048" //Sets how much VRAM the game can use seta vt_restart
I'm still getting the same issue but in addition to that, the intro video is now playing.
A small note - any anisotropy setting above 8 makes the seams appear. I'd say using
seta vt_maxaniso 8 seta vt_lodbias -2.5
is probably the best bet. On a sidenote - what's with all the people screaming about it not having control configuration or graphical options? Did they forget to check the options menu or something?
The game looks amazing ! Only if it worked properly, though :c I used these settings :
seta vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly2 8192 seta vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly 8192 seta vt_pageimagesizeunique 8192 seta vt_pageimagesizevmtr 8192 seta fc_maxcachememoryMB 8192 seta r_useMotionBlur "1" seta vt_restart
The game runs fine, but the fps goes down suddenly and goes up right after. I also have some annoying glitches (that you see above)that prevent me from seeing anything, even the menus. Maybe I'm late and there's a command/fix for that too ? I think the game is going to be awesome. I'm not taking it as an "open world, do whatever you want" sorta game and more as a basic shooter from ID, with some VERY nice level design. Can't wait to fix that problem so I can continue. EDIT: I installed ATI's rage improvement driver, and used the "high end systems" cfg, runs at some sweet 60 FPS, the game looks GORGEOUS. And it's super fun!

Forcing v-sync through nVidia control panel apparently does that for some reason. [editline]6th October 2011[/editline] Yep, that fixed that issue. The game appears to be ignoring my config file now though for some reaosn.
what key turns on console? ` as usual (on a uk keyboard) i tried to enable it with launch option and cfg just to check all the settings were being enabled but i cant turn on the console once in game
I fell out of the map. :| [t]http://i.imgur.com/Xb276.jpg[/t]
Aha oh wow, tried the ATI fix drivers and the game loaded super slow and eventually gave up loading.
Does the game use steam cloud for saves? It does for settings for me but not saves and I dont want to redo 4 hour worth of stuff
I don't mean to be a leech, but an overview of this whole situation would be nice, just bought it and downloading now and I have no idea whether to use the ATI optimization drivers, if I should use a config and which for better graphics (6870 1gb) because I don't need 60fps, 30fps will do for me and I'd prefer the better visuals. And is there a fix for texture pop-in yet or are we hoping for a patch? Thanks.
Since id Tech 5 uses OpenGL, can't this run on Linux natively?

To customize your graphic settings and fix the texture pop-in, you should check this. Just choose the parameter set that's the closest to your computer specs, and you can adjust some of them to your liking. I have an ATI 5750, chose the "high spec" CFG, and I run the game at 60 fps, with no lag at all. I had lag and glitches, but most of them were fixed with ATI's Rage performance driver. Good luck !

Has anyone found fix for this: I have newest drivers and it fixed low fps + textures load much faster, but it also created this problem.
So a friend is going to buy this i think, but i have a couple questions. Is it worth it? He probably going to get it for xbox. Also does it have campaign local coop? or coop at all?
Any news on when the patch will be coming?
Has anyone found fix for this:
Are you forcing antialiasing/anisotropic filtering? I saw the same thing happening when I tried that, so it might be your problem.

It has co-op that is separated story from the main game.
how do i make this game not look so terrible?
This just got slotted through my mailbox <3 Installing now, hoping that because I have an Nvidia GTX 560ti that I won't encounter many of the problems?
Oh god the improperly loading textures [editline]7th October 2011[/editline]
how do i make this game not look so terrible?
