Is it still going to be rated T (US)? If that's what they are still shooting for, I think the game is ruined.

What? Have you seen any of the videos?
I never heard of it being "T".
you can punch mutants' heads to pulp with your fists.
i don't think it will be rated T.
It's not rated T, it is indeed M.

I was just going on Wikipedia info.
Behind the Scenes: The Dawn

Shows some new footage as well as giving information on the world you play in.
Also recently Rage passed though the Australian classification board with an MA15+.
Rad. Was gonna post this but you beat me to it. I'll add it to the OP.

I don't care what the haters say. I think the game looks like a lot of fun. The weapons look like they'll feel great and the world sounds really neat. The story is obviously not 100% original but I don't mind that. But if you take into account that this game was probably in development from a short time after Doom 3's release they were kind of beaten to the punch, which sucks.
This game looks pretty rad but I'm not spending the price of a full retail game on it.
There's just something about it that screams "Interesting story; hyper-boring gameplay." Even with what has been shown there's nothing that's even remotely advertised that makes it worth more than thirty dollars.
So long as they release an SDK with it I have nothing to worry about.
Conoles destroyed this... The first footage they showed, back when they presented ID Tech 5 and the Editor was brilliant. Now all I see is washed out textures. Megatextures my ass
I think it looks much better than the first bits of footage.
I want id to do something really kind of stupid for their next game. They should take the helm to create Roller Coaster Tycoon 4

id pretty much said they're only going to make first person shooters and just keep milking their name
who knows, though
As long as they're good, I'm cool with that.
All of John Carmack's engines from the past have been the topnotch in terms of graphics. This is the first time they've went economical. In an interview, he said that one of the goals was to make RAGE run on 30 FPS with Intel graphics, so I think it's safe to assume that even old gaming rigs will be able to keep up at 60.

No, it doesn't. The textures may be more optimized, but the lighting is pretty much ass compared to what it used to be. There have definitely been concessions made.

Basically all except the dev diary videos have been recorded on the 360 or PS3.
The game looks just as great as ever.
Well I'm just judging from what I've seen so far and so far I haven't seen a single thing you mentioned. All I've seen is you drive in your buggy to a wastelandy place and run n gun until you complete the objective.
that seems like an over simplified way to put things. Most games can fall into that category if you ignore certain parts about them. Borderlands, Halo, CoD are all games in which you "run n gun until you complete the objective" Most games seem like that, it's what seperates them from the pack that makes a great game
Do people seriously think id is going to make a bad game?
Do people seriously think id is going to make a bad game?
What? They've done that alot lately...
What? They've done that alot lately...
They're good for mobile standards.
Do people seriously think id is going to make a bad game?
have you ever played doom i mean wow theres no iron sights, recharging health or any kind of perks/rewards system not to mention the plot was written by a drunk ten year old and the graphics look like they're from 1993
id cant make games end of story
Dey had now newks!

Their last game was Doom 3, so there is no 'lately' when it comes to id.
[editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
I wouldn't count iPhone RAGE, and Doom 3 on the iPhone wasn't id.
Well. Id stopped pushing boundaries after Q2 on all fronts but tech. Quake 3 was a massive failure since Unreal Tournament clubbed it silly with a ton more content and similar gameplay. Not only that, but they actually figured people would dislike a single-player campaign for the third game.
Next they spend 5 years rubbing their bellies and here we get Doom 3. Technologically brilliant and scary as shit, yet no one liked it because it wasn't really Doom.
Id has had no real leadership since Quake 2 and RAGE is their first project since then that looks decent. But it's still obvious that it's not going to redefine jack-shit in the industry. Due to their long dev cycle, everyone will just see Fallout with gun-play. Having an Eden-project resembling the vaults and a faction resembling the Enclave doesn't help on this front either. They've been systematically eliminating and breaking every record in fuck-ups with their past 3 titles. I hope RAGE will change this a bit.
Quake 3 was anything but a failure. And just because Doom 3 wasn't like Doom that doesn't mean it was anything bad for id.
I have no clue what you're talking about. No id game has been received or sold poorly. None of them have been fuck ups at all. It's one thing they're kind of popular for.
If Id made Doom clones using today's technology nobody would buy them.
Hey guys, all of ID's major games are in all caps, with the exception of wolfenstein
mindfuck
Commander Keen - It's major to some people!

Yes they would. If any game had the name Doom on it it'd sell.
