A bit overpowered and wastes ammo but it does pretty well against the larger, tougher enemies.

There are better ways to deal with big enemies. And considering you get the Combat Shotgun early on, the Double Barrel is made useless.

If they're that close and you have DLC, rage fists ftw.
The double barrel shotgun + pop shots is great for stripping the armour off the bigger enemies.
This is all I'm getting on my 4850. After I play for 10 minutes I can't see anything because my hud is bouncing around the screen and I get a large white UV map of some sort flickering across my screen every second.

Its definitely not the card, because I use the same one and Ive been playing for the last 6 hours with no visual bugs.
Its definitely not the card, because I use the same one and Ive been playing for the last 6 hours with no visual bugs.
Its not just the card, seems like the problem lies within certain hardware combinations. Even so, the ATI Raedon HD 4***/5*** are ones that have alot of problems with the game.
Or, you know, the option in the game
That too, I forgot that it had updated. Haven't gotten around to playing it again yet.
Is there anything like that for an HD 5 series? Or is it pretty much the same? I have a 5770.
Catalyst AI + dual core causes stuttering(and if you disable AI you get texture corruption)
->
Catalyst 11.6 fixed all of my problems(stuttering with Catalyst AI, texture checkerboard without, low fps)
Dont forget to clean your current driver with Driver Sweeper before installing Catalyst 11.6.
Hope this helps someone :D
I'm running a HD5850 btw.
EDIT: Don't forget to enable Catalyst AI after you installed 11.6

Turn your vt_maxppf up to get rid of that issue. Doesn't appear for me at 32.
Also is the authority MG worth the price in wellspring?
Is this game any good? And I mean is it like very great? Is it seriously worth 59.99..
It looks beautiful and all, reminds me of Fallout 3 and Borderlands, but other than that, I'm afraid that it'll be a typical 7.0 type of game.
Is there gore/gibbing? Is there lots of variety of enemies? Have a nice day.
Yes to gore and gibbing, and the enemies vary and have very good AI
Well, these are some pretty screenshots.
Yesssss
the patch caused some graphics glitches but at least I can get further :D No more crashing after the first Mutant Bash TV
Once they iron out the problems I hope they release the promised map editor/mod tools soon, it sucks that people are having so many issues because I'm having a blast with this game.
Also if Vsync keeps switching back to 'OFF' look in your graphic's card control panel if it says if it automatically turns it to 'off' for Rage.exe, it did for me and once I changed that Vsync worked fine.

Yeah since later in the game there is literally no point to using the assault rifle as it sucks at everything even with the upgrades. The MG just replaces it which is another thing I find annoying with this game. Guns 'overwrite' other guns to the point where the only reason I am using them is because I ran out of ammo in the better one.
It's also better to get the MG since you start picking ammo like mad crazy when you fight the Authority.

NO! You get an authority MG when you're told to raid the [del]Ghost hideout[/del] Shrouded bunker. Stick with the AR until then and save yourself the $500.
Fucking Gearhead bandits. They are as overpowered as hell. I mean their fucking armor blocks a entire clip of shots wasting all of my damn ammo.
Plus they recycled those heavily armored minigun soldiers for them.

You do? Ah damn wasted my money then since I literally bought it two missions before doing that one :v:

Combat shotgun into the face...my way
I can't even play the game now.. I logged 3+ hours of gameplay pretty fine. I had the texture popping but to be honest I don't give a fuck, I'm still enjoying the game I could care less about textures.. BUT..
now the game has started crashing for no reason after a few seconds and I reckon it happens when I'm near an NPC, my latest save loads me into Wellspring with an NPC walking right by and the game crashes.
I've googled around and looked at the steam support forum but I can't figure out how to fix this or if there even is a fix.
Advice?
The game starts freezing randomly. It's something like freezes for a few seconds, then I can play for a few seconds, then it freezes again and so on.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Now my game crashes when I'm at the shrouded bunker mission...
So after a good nights sleep, I came back, re-installed the game, downloaded the new nvidia beta drivers, then used the config file for a low end compter, and after ALL that, the game is playable, but still has the texture loading issue. *sigh*

You sure you have cache size set to large? If you are using the low end settings it automatically sets it to small, that causes texture loading.

If you have an ATI GPU try updating to the latest drivers. That fixed it for me. However, doing so makes the texture pop-in happen again, and the game lag a lot more. But hey, you can at least continue playing. :P
It's really a shame that so many people are being plagued by graphical bugs, the game itself is really fun, I think it would have been infinitely more popular if there wasn't all this commotion with bad drivers and this stupid realtime settings management stuff :(
I'm not boasting but I've played the game with perfect performance since the start, logged 9 hours gametime and I'm absolutely loving it, really solid game.
If they hadn't tried to be so cocky with the 'it'll make it easier for pc gamers to set graphics' ideal then it'd have been so much better. I mean really, I picked out my parts I think I know them better then the game does.
I'm sure once all this is sorted out people will find a rather enjoyable gaming experience behind the door of glitches
This post fixed the constant crashing (NPC related apparently) and it SEEMS to have fixed some of my texture popping, it still happens but it's not nearly as noticable but that may be due to the fact that I also have a high aniso filter setting.
