The SDK for Rage is finally being released (should be available on Steam later on today): http://www.bethblog.com/2013/02/08/rage-tool-kit-available-today-on-steam/ Be prepared for a large download as according to the post it is a 35GB+ download. The post also says the toolkit is aimed at “technically sophisticated and adventurous” modders. While I don't actually plan on using the tools myself I am interested in seeing what can be done with them. John Carmack also tweeted this in regards to the tools:
Doing significant work will require patience, because internally we use a 300 core renderfarm for megatexture creation.
Heh, better late than never. I loved RAGE.
I'm so happy that carmack managed to see this be released. It's one of those things that is almost rare, that a dev will follow through with their promise, especially when the game was somewhat of a flop, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
I can't believe it's actually coming out. Amazing.
I'm sure this is old information, but I figured I'd share since the new DLC is out. This makes the game look much better overall while getting rid of texture pop-in.
I must be doing something wrong with the cfg thing, cause it fucks my framerate down to like, 5 fps no matter what settings I use
Sorry for the bump, but I just started replaying RAGE now that I have the DLC and was wondering when the best time to start the DLC missions is, since you have access to it from the beginning of the game.
Man, I really liked RAGE. I'm surprised nothing has come from the SDK yet.

The goal is to encrease the shooting fun and this has nothing to do with realism and was done to bring back id's old-school experience!!! This is not COD! And for god sake don't forget about one simple thing - HEADSHOOTS!
uuuuhhhhhhhhhh [editline]17th May 2013[/editline] This is not CoD, but y'know, go for headshots.
When did they add a 64-bit option at launch? I thought it was there at the start, but in any case the problem I had where the game would stutter for a long time after just loading has completely evaporated, which is excellent. Now if I could just get the game to not unload textures so aggressively that it's a constant flickering of high-res-low-res whenever I turn around a lot (which is all the time).
