That co-op doesn't look too good, but not very bad neither.
Could be fun with a close friend, but I don't have any close friends to play with me.
I could get the game for PS3, but I'd much rather have it for PC.
I don't think the co-op would be worth getting the PS3 version just to play with a friend.

I know how you feel - I've already pre-ordered it for the PC but nobody else on my Steam friends list has, so I won't really be able to play the co-op anyway, even if it doesn't look like it'll be nearly as good as the singleplayer. (Why didn't they just rip off borderlands co-op? WHY?!)

The missions are connected to the single-player story. If you watch the co-op trailer posted a page or two ago they mention it.

X32 bit version is "like a muscular console"
PC-specific features are only included in x64 bit version - that means you need a x64 bit computer and operating system to run mod tools and use dev-console.
only x32 bit is on purchased disk - you need to log into steam to download x64 exe/dll and then you can download "mod SDK" via steam
the game has local co-op (maybe even local multiplayer since it's very easy to implement) - it also has online co-op. PC version has only online.
With local i mean Split-Screen (one console one TV - 2 guys can play in the livingroom) ž
We don't know what exactly this co-op is -- only side missions, special missions ? , whole singleplayer ? --- we don't know the full scope.
The game contains 22GB on 3 disks for X360 and the latest information revealed that x360 does not need full install - you can optionally install only one disk for what you need - minimal 8 GB is needed for install - one disk.
PS3 does not have full install option as of current info - the install is optional - still negotiating with sony how much install space can ID take - more install space means faster texture loading (less blurry fade-in scenes)

Disk 1: First wasteland
Disk 2: Second Wasteland
Disk 3: Multiplayer
