I got this game yesterday and i love it. I played it for like 10 hours :buddy: By the way how can i edit textures/skins?
Not positive on this, but if you bought the game on steam then go to your "tools" tab and install Torchlight Editor. Probably has tools to extract/ import textures. If you don't have it on steam, then get it from http://www.torchlightgame.com/gamenews/2009/11/16/torched-is-here/

I had a badass purple helm, but i didn't have the damn requirements for it. That happens to me ALL THE TIME I'll get an Orange or a purple but my stats will be just too low, or they'll be WAY to low. Like on my Alchemist i found an Orange pistol, but it needed 25 dex :|
Why are you bothering with a pistol as an alch. Let me put it this way, don't spread your attribute points out, choose whether you are going to go with martial equipment(strength), ranged(dexterity), or mage equipment(magic), and stick with the associated stat for it and defense. Most people pump 3 into their primary offense stat and 2 into defense, but many hardcore players do the reverse, some even stopping at 120 or so in the primary offense stat and just pumping defense after that.
Hardcore as in the difficulty level, or like super pro leetzor players
Hardcore as in the difficulty level, or like super pro leetzor players
He's most likely talking about both, because usually both of those types know when stats start to become useless compared to the others.
Oh, well I just play on normal mode. :buddy:

I sold it. Anyway, just beat it. Here's my dude The helm and shield are part of the Dragonslayer set, and the sword in my bag is a set sword (can't remember the name, it was like Tlaloc or something)
Holy unorganized inventory
I had just gotten all those gems out, and transmuted them.
Hardcore as in the difficulty level, or like super pro leetzor players
difficulty level
I take screenshots of all of the unique and set items that I pick up. It appears that set item stats are randomized just like normal items or something.
Gah, it's getting tougher to decide between equipment. I need mana drain on hit, because all my spells drain copious amounts on mana, but the weapons I'm finding don't have it. The one I'm using that does have 7 drain on hit, though, has a much lower damage/second...

So, does anyone know if the box version uses Steam? I'm getting it shortly after it comes out on Jan 5th, but I'd kind of like the Steam achievements too
One of the staff members on the forum said they would see if that were possible, but no definite answer has been given yet.
Is anyone else getting really bad performance since the last patch? I'm only getting about 20 FPS. Edit: This isn't funny :saddowns: I can play Crysis on highest settings with 40FPS and Torchlight can't even get 30?

Then I went on the Runic forum, and one of the devs emailed me a patch to make it work properly again. Wanted to test it out on a few people before making it go live on Steam. So it should be patched before long.
I caught a giant muckfish earlier and permanently transformed my dog into a goblinhound, then shortly after fed it an ordinary pocketfish to make room for something else and after 2 minutes it transformed back to a dog. I was expecting it to stay as a goblinhound, makes the dog/cat fish you can buy in town pretty useless.
is there any difference between the dog and cat?
I don't know, haven't even had a cat yet, but I'm guessing they're identical stats and abilities wise.
Yeah, the "permanent" fish last either forever, or until you use a different fish. [editline]09:49PM[/editline] Now I feel like posting my character
My trial just ended. Man, this game is badass. I hesitated on downloading it when I saw the cartoony graphics (which I fell in love with after a few minutes) but I had a blast playing it. Totaly buying this.
I don't get why people are all "lol cartoony graphics it'll suckk" It's just a art style.
In my opinion, some cartoony art styles are a major plus.
One major plus is the performance tends to be better then if it was "Realistic".
The only thing i hate about this game is the god damn identify scrolls they're so fucking annoying.
The only thing i hate about this game is the god damn identify scrolls they're so fucking annoying.
Well, you can keep an eye out for the identify spell if you don't mind sacrificing a spell slot. Come to think of it, I wonder if there's a mod that eliminates the need for identify scrolls?
