Why would it? Runic probably made a fortune already, and they haven't gone retail yet.
I love this game, my character is an alchemist and I love it when I kill a whole horde of like 40 monsters within 20 seconds. One-man clusterfuck apocalypse. :black101:
Ok this game is a pretty good Diablo placeholder, but it's annoying me how small the life/mana "orbs" are. Is there any way to change that with mods or something?

Or the actual amount of HP and Mana you have?

I tried this game out and I just could not get into it. At first I liked the graphic style, but then I realized that it made the whole game feel much less visceral than, say Diablo 2. The game also feels much slower paced... It just doesn't feel like how a hack n' slash should feel.
As fishpoke said They're fucking tiny!
I have trouble paying attention to them as well. I have died once from this. I preferred something like D2's orbs which take up 1/16 of the screen.
Eh, I didn't think it was too bad, but I did find myself close to death a few times due to actually having to check them rather than being able to see them no matter where I am looking.

I just bought it. I liked the demo, yep. Also, on a side note got L4D2. Gonna start modding after I play the game a bit.
1) There is a free demo, you probably should have tried that. 2) You probably should have read up on it first as well. 2 things that you could have done to prevent such a purchase. Also, $5 isn't that much.
Who said am the guy who bought the game for me.
Do you ever get another fedora? I've been using the Fisher's Fedora and I love it, but it'll probably be outclassed by better hats. I like the way it looks, but I'm not sure if I'll keep it forever once I start getting better headgear.
Just had a long session of the game, I'm on the part where I have to choose a portal to go in. Playing on Hard, didn't go hardcore because I lost my vanquisher because of it.
sexy
Dat Staff.
Generally speaking, is it better to dual wield two above average weapons or use one really good 2 handed weapon? Also, when dual wielding, one gun and one staff or two staffs? I'm a level 10 alchemist and new to all these all mouse rpg's if anyone is interested.
For those worried about micro-transactions in the mmo(and by "worried", I mean QQing like fucking babies) http://www.crispygamer.com/news/index.php/2009-10-19/runic-games-dungeon-masters-the-torchlight-interview-part-ii/2/
"We don’t want to sell things like the best sword to players, because it’s kind of cheesy to pay somebody and have the most powerful character. So we’re going to do things like sell you a map to a dungeon that will have slightly better drops than you would get if you didn’t pay. And if that person buys the map they can then bring their whole party in to play for free. So you just need one guy to make the purchase and then everyone can benefit."
I would if I knew v:smile:v Anyway, this is my summoner alchemist Florp. He retired last night at the age of 41. ;_;
Is there a man like Decard Cain in this game that identifies all items for you, or do you just have to buy a ton of those scrolls everyone time?
Is there a man like Decard Cain in this game that identifies all items for you, or do you just have to buy a ton of those scrolls everyone time?
Scrolls or spell, take your pick.
Scrolls or spell, take your pick.
what spell?
what spell?
Are you supposed to have that one from the beginning?
Are you supposed to have that one from the beginning?
No, you can buy it in town occasionally from the woman that sells spells and maps, might also drop as loot sometimes. There's also a town portal spell.
That identify spell has to be quite rare. My destroyer is level 65, and I have never seen it drop. Granted I don't usually look for spells in the shop when I visit to sell my stuff though.
