No, you can buy it in town occasionally from the woman that sells spells and maps, might also drop as loot sometimes. There's also a town portal spell.
Thx
That identify spell has to be quite rare. My destroyer is level 65, and I have never seen it drop. Granted I don't usually look for spells in the shop when I visit to sell my stuff though.
I'm not really sure it drops, haven't seen it myself, but it isn't that rare in town. I usually always have one in the shared chest, can be used from level 2 so it's usually the first spell my new characters get.
I had Identify Item spell drop on me when I was around level 20.
It does drop, I have had it drop several times.
What types of dungeon are there in the game? In the demo I've seen the caverns and the fortress type ones (that looks like a castle, except all the areas are surrounded by... well, thin air. It's the one you go to for the guy who wants you to find the tome of revelation)

I think that's all.[/sp]
Great! Quite a few then, enough to keep it interesting :)
Being a gunslinger is too easy.
Am i the only one who's ahead of my enemies levels? I'm 21 and they're like 17, and it has been like that all the time. I'm playing on hard as Destroyer

If you go to the Transmuter and you place both of your currently-equipped items in two of the slots, click transmute, and then click decline, you'll kind of dupe both of your items. Except that you can't equip the duped item, only sell it.
Are you supposed to have that one from the beginning?
I got it in the first five minutes and have been making millions off the scrolls I'm selling. If you see it, buy it or take it immediately and never ever unlearn it.
I just bought it. I liked the demo, yep. Also, on a side note got L4D2. Gonna start modding after I play the game a bit.
You bought the same things I did from the steam sale, we are forever connected. FOREVER

Ugh, I installed a mod that turned my pet into a dragon or something, and after realizing it was a piece of shit, I uninstalled it and turned my pet back into a goblinhound, but it still goes really super fast, how can I fix this? I've deleted all my cache files, but the problem still persists

Considering the characters should be saved in the steam cloud.
disregard that, don't know what I did but it solved itself
Where does the shield go, which slot? :downs:
Where does the shield go, which slot? :downs:
Weapon slot. It acts like a one-handed weapon.
Where does the shield go, which slot? :downs:
You could just right click it and it goes where it is supposed to automatically..
Also, is there an easy way of determining the location of a quest?
You could just right click it and it goes where it is supposed to automatically..

Weapon slot. It acts like a one-handed weapon.
Thanks!
I hope if the MMO is any good they give people who already own Torchlight some kind of bonus item, nothing that gives a huge advantage though.
Hope the retail version comes out soon. :smithicide:
Hope the retail version comes out soon. :smithicide:
There's a release date somewhere, I think its January 10th. EDIT: right from their site,
Q: How do I get a physical CD or boxed version? A: Torchlight will be in stores on January 5th, 2010. Pre-orders will start on Encore USA’s site and Amazon.com in mid-December. The boxed version will not have any DRM.
Heh, I still can't believe we are almost to 2010. This is when we where supposed to have spaceships and electronic books and shit. I guess we Americans fucked that chance up when we got our selves into so many goddamn wars. :saddowns:
I'm still debating as to whether I would like this. It seems like it might be a bit lonely, wandering around an empty world, leveling my character for no reason. :C
