great overview... really would like to see some examples of the combat system though.
Click the 3D spessmen
http://www.indiegogo.com/centration Early bird kickstarter is now online, more concept/videos will be added overtime to attract more people into donating
As attractive as this project may sound when it's actually getting somewhere, at the moment it isn't worth trying to collect money before you have more to show for it. Also indiegogo so you get money regardless of whether it's funded or not? Didn't you guys say you weren't doing it for the money and giving away premium accounts like hotcakes, I don't understand. :v:
Finally got around to watching the video. It's extremely informative, and the part about the modabilty of the game is rad as hell.

You don't have any idea how incredibly time-consuming and expensive it is to make a 3D game with these kinds of features. The indiegogo funding project is there simply to aid us in developing the game as soon as possible, every bit of money goes to development - in fact we've already put some of it to use already. (Well my own money, but it'll be balanced once we get the funding.)

I'm not trying to rag on your project, I'm just trying to get a decent bearing on what you have in mind. Which is why this is confusing:
We're not making Centration to make money.
When you replied to someone asking you why you were giving away the game for free to so many people.

People have to give things away in order to get people interested. We gave 50 accounts away, and nearly 200 people have now registered on the forums, some of them even paying to pre-purchase the game. That wouldn't have happened if we hadn't given the accounts away before.
One technical question, do you have a full license for UDK? So you get access to the source?
You have to licence the whole engine to get full access to the source code the UDK licence 99$ one allows you to sell your game commercially
Yes, we've got a license for UDK.
Even though I already got a premium account, I'm still willing to shell out a bit of cash to get a key for a friend. Can't say I'd be willing to do that if they hadn't given me a premium account in the first place and cemented my interest in the game.
Was this taken off Greenlight? When I try load the page in my favorites it says "That item does not exist. It may have been removed by the author."

We are hoping to get some gameplay available soon, but until then we feel that we should not be public on Steam Greenlight just yet. Please see this post by a Steam Moderator for more information.
From the forum
Pretty much what I said then.
Also, is the website down ATM?
Also, is the website down ATM?
Yeah, performing stress tests and general maintenance Also the greenlight page is back up
Yeah, performing stress tests and general maintenance Also the greenlight page is back up
Lies!
Lies!
Yeah we are actually releasing the game right now.
Found the page.
Ah, I misunderstood. I thought you said you were only going to make the game public on Greenlight when you had a gameplay video, but I see you still solidified the page on Steam, so I guess it's still a good change.
Been quite some time, but it looks like we've got our first "real" demonstration demo. Rejoice:
Having played space station 13 so much and pouring so many useless hours into it, I think this will be the game that makes me actually spend my money funding it.
As much as I support this, that video is pathetic.
As much as I support this, that video is pathetic.
Reason being? Seems good to me.
It doesn't look like the kickstarter will go through, hopefully this doesn't mean you'll abandon the project.
It doesn't look like the kickstarter will go through, hopefully this doesn't mean you'll abandon the project.
They have indiegogo with a flexible funding campaign right now. It means they'll still get the money even if it doesn't fund the whole project. I think the plan was to go through with indiegogo, and then get the rest of the money required through a kickstarter.
Reason being? Seems good to me.
The same thing can be done by anyone in a few mins on Unity or UDK, It's pointless.
The same thing can be done by anyone in a few mins on Unity or UDK, It's pointless.
Yeah, it's a bit underwhelming, but hopefully the next video will show a more complex set-up, with multiple airlocks and a maze-like map of corridors so we can see how everything will interact.
The same thing can be done by anyone in a few mins on Unity or UDK, It's pointless.
It's still something that's needed. Not like they were going to add volumetric gasses and simulate the flow as a liquid (I hope at least). This thing only needs to keep track of the moles of air (and pressure) in rooms and have mol/s flow out of it depending on the area of the hole (and pressure difference), then it's good. Anything more complicated isn't really needed, better to have a simpler system that can handle a lot of objects than a more complex one that is a lot more resource intensive. Obviously I assume that all those repeated decompressions were there for show and it won't do that in game (as in, an already decompressed room is already kinda vacuum, so it can't explosively decompress again).
After listening to the sound on page one for almost two days I'd like to know where it comes from :( [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline] Oh lol I found it, yeah I'm stupid.
