I see a lot of concept art but not much actual models/textures.
Any chance we could have a look at those?

A thousand agrees for this guy.
We've barely seen anything from the actual game, just little snippets of concept art.
Gosh darn, there are some models and semi-in game screens in the Developers section but yeah, strict NDA to not publish stuff from there. Shall see if i can get something out of it
Concept art is cool, but it doesn't mean anything if there's nothing usable. If you want to show progress, you need to show game assets. Otherwise it's just noise. Cool looking noise, but noise
Theres a preview livestream http://www.twitch.tv/centration#9664
After that they are going to do a Q&A after showing some of the build preview
Stream offline. How recently was it?

At the time of my post it just 3 minutes past it starting, and twitch saved the video accessible here http://www.twitch.tv/centration/b/371056420
right now they are playing faster than light apparently, but this video has the very basic build, it starts about 11:30 in that video
Yeah, the build is without textures, the player animations definitely need work. But it proves atleast work is being done. Heard some pretty dumb questions though on the Q&A.
Allright people, this is what you've been asking for. Noms has actually uploaded the livestream footage on YouTube.
Q&A + Very Early Build Gameplay:

The Hanger Bay looks like it would be fun, everyone is just standing around then suddenly..
HANGER DOORS OPENING..
I can imagine people in this acting like pricks and just killing everyone all the time rather than working together.

I take it you haven't played SS13.
I take it you haven't played SS13.
Never, I don't like the whole top down side yet everything is side on perspective, it's strange.
I hope it will be a lot like Space station 13's roleplay
Considering that the developers of Centration started shouting and crying like babbys at people who compare their game with SS13 a while ago, i'm pretty sure they want to make it "unique".
For anyone that used to play SS13 or is new to it, soonish the Centration SS13 will be launched.
Read the SS13 thread on the centration forum for info
I should actually watch the entire Q&A myself, since I mostly skimmed the video yesterday.
did they switched theyr engine from UE3 To Unity? if so why
did they switched theyr engine from UE3 To Unity? if so why
I'm paraphrasing one of the programmers here, but they switched from UDK to Unity 4 because the more they coded in UDK, the more they realized it was a bad idea. The switch happened a long time ago, around October.
I was sort of disappointed when I saw that they had changed to Unity. I don't know why, but Unity feels cheap and unprofessional, even though I know I'm wrong. Probably because it is so widely used.

Unity is limitless for them now since Noms purchased Unity Pro
Good to see you guys are prioritizing stuff, full destruction would alone take as much effort as the rest of the game probably. Though I assume objects will still be destructable? As in, the floors, walls and all that won't, but things like the generators will (with a very simple "destroyed" model or just deleting them outright)?
Only thing I am slightly worried about was the UI. SS13's UI is a clusterfuck (with those right click menus everywhere), I'm hoping we'll still have normal one-button presses to operate things when all you need is a simple interaction. For example if you want to turn on the light switch, you just press E while looking at it, or if you want to open a simple door you do the same (while if you want to do more complex interactions, then you can bring up the menu).
So it's essentially Pandorum meets Trouble in Terrorist Town?

Take a look at system shock 2 btw, has pretty good world interaction controls.
Press tab to access inventory and change mouse movement to a cursor instead of camera movement, can interact with the world this way too.
It works really well, and I'd say it's worth investigating at least.

But if floors and walls are indestructible, then where is the fun being on a space station?
First priority is the core game. Everything extra to it will possibly be discussed with the community and its still a long way till we got the entire core game.

In all honesty UE3 is cheap compared to Unity.
Unity
free (free) - very (very) restricted game scripting support, many graphical features stripped
Pro ($1500) - full scripting support, no engine feature restrictions
Source Code (case-by-case, contact them) - full scripting support, no engine feature restrictions, full engine source code to add new engine features
UDK
free (free until you sell your product, then $99) - full scripting support, no engine feature restrictions
Source Code (case-by-case, contact them) - full scripting support, no engine feature restrictions, full engine source code to add new engine features
so yeah, for what you get, UDK is cheaper

UDK is a way worse option for this kind of game though. I'm glad they're using Unity, the scripting is 1000000x better in it. Graphics might take a hit and they'll have to do optimisation workarounds but I hope it will be worth it.
